Are you sure that's 1958? My first game was 1959 and I'm sure the main stand was a lot bigger then. Or maybe they built is especially for me?

As the article says, it was knocked down shortly after this photo was taken.

That is the original stand from 1905. It was demolished 2 months after that picture was taken apparently.

What's most shocking is that it means the "new" west stand wasn't very old when I first set eyes on it, yet I thought it was old and decrepit then (1970)!

Hang on, those dates can't be right. The one being built is clearly part of the 'new' West Stand, but the aerial view still shows the old West Stand.
