Nobody can be forced on loan, they can do a Winston Bogarde and sit the contract out. Not sure about Dobbie as something went wrong here and now frozen out so soon at Palace, mysterious.

Not mysterious. He has twice been the subject of a last minute panic purchase, by us and palace. He has a better agent than he is footballer, and has now inflated his wages beyond where anyone can afford him (see Huddersfield loan).

Other clubs can afford him on loan if Palace subsidise his current wages by 80%

Morning friends :)

Apparently with regards to Marange he is unfit and will go out on loan to gain fitness and to experience English Football- only a one year deal so I am sure the £120m will cover that.

Wilbraham (as I suggested) could well be on the way to you guys- it's the least we can do for you really imagine him and Barnes together. Goals baby.

As for Garvan he is good but too slow- perhaps he can run down the beach like in Rocky to get faster- who can be Apollo Creed...Lua Lua?

Dobbie- I feel sorry for the guy and would have taken him over Grandin but hey ho.

Hope you are all swell.

He's looked a decent player when i've seen him - if the brain's quick and you can see a pass it's not necessarily a deal-breaker to lack pace. Murray's hardly lightning is he, but he seems to find the net regularly enough. (*spit*)
I'm surprised he's been left out, but I suppose Holloway has to be seen to back his own judgement in the players he's brought in, and Garvan is not not one of them.

Dobbie looked their only good player towards the end of the season.

The problem is he is just physically too slow so can't carry the ball and sometimes dawdles on it. Was made to look like a jackass against the spudz. Could do a job in the Championship though he was good but a bit of a luxury in sense he can't/won't tackle and doesn't track back.

Stephen Dobbie, I haven't looked at the stats, but this is a guy who seems to have played for almost half of the Football Leagues of both England and Scotland, (subtle exaggeration!). The majoriity of games he has played. and scored in, are probably for clubs he has played for on loan. I think their must be an underlying cause for this.

Why buy him, then? (Not that I'm complaining, because I didn't rate him that highly...

Anyone know what Palace have ended up paying for their 16 signings. The sky totaliser had them on 11 million, weeks ago before the mad surge last week.

I am not sure the transfer fee's would be the problem but more like the Premiership wages for 16 players. I would think a poorly paid Prem player would be on around £30k per week so the 16 new signings would be £25 mill alone. Add to this the 20 odd players already on the books and the signing on fee's and transfer fee's paid. This must have made a huge hole in this years £63 mill Prem money. Not much left for rebuilding Selhurst.

The one thing I really don't understand about Holloways 25, is how can he pick McCarthy over Mirange, Dobbie and Garvan when McCarthy never kicked a ball all last season and is yet to play so far this season. Crazy decision to my mind.

McCarthy was out injured all of last season and is apparently shortly to return. He is their club captain so was a shoe-in to be included.

I think it ended up at about £17.5M in total if you add on the wages they'll be getting plus the wages for all staff already on the books it must be pretty close to the prize money from the Premier League for finishing in 20th. The only thing I can see they will save on is the win bonus.
