I will be at Trent Bridge on Thursday and Friday anyone else going to be around for what should be a cracking opening test?

I just hope this wasn't a good toss to lose.

Fancied us to bowl on the first morning. Overcast, Aussies examined from the start.

Don't think any captain wouldn't have batted, but I'm going to be much more nervous now!!

Derek Pringle "Agar in to torment Pietersen with his left-arm spin. England's batsmen containable save for KP, so makes sense but big ask for teenager."

Surely he is being ironic. The Aussies are on the run already!

Not ironic. Its an interesting battle. KP is notoriously suspect against left arm spinners. On the other hand he will want to dominate and hit the new kid out of the attack. Should be fun.

I'm in Lower Radcliffe on both days with 2 Cardiff fans and a QPR fan. Getting train at lunchtime today.

To me it appears ironic. Australia always talk up the "ego" and here they are putting in a slow left armer just for him. What if he is inoffensive against the other 10 players and, furthermore, what if, as you say, Kev puts on the pyrotechnics? A huge gamble in my eyes and clutching at straws.

Big day for Joe Root. He's done astonishingly well for a youngster so far in his career, but he's very shortly about to experience a whole new level.

I hope we get off to a nice ish start, no fireworks, just get the shine off the ball and start farming the runs..plenty of time, these back to back series are a marathon not a sprint.

TWO reasonable deliveries in that (7 ball) over.

Poor.

And, are they going to celebrate like they've bowled Viv Richards, EVERY time they stop a ball in the field?
