I know it is all just banter, but do find it strange the way so many people believe you have to take sides.

Bloom v Knight.
Bloom/Barber v Poyet
Knight v Wilkins
etc

All of them have something valid to say and none of them are capable of getting things right all the time.

To answer the question, no I can't imagine I would want to go and watch Whitehawk play.

Are the rebels going to form FC Albion of Brighton?

hypothetical question- If Dick Knight ever became involved on the board of Brighton City FC (Whitehawk) and urged all disgruntled Albion fans (all those who have posted nostalgic comments on nsc and slated Barber et al etc) to come and follow this new venture- marketing it as a throwback to the Goldstone, Gillingham, Withdean glory years, how many people do you think would consider doing it? I fully expect some to slate/want ban/mock another of my threads but it is a serious question!
It's a ridiculous question.

I hear what you are saying about it looks like people taking sides but you can appreciate both sides. If you like all the commerical corporate stuff then you have to take your hat off to Bloom. But you appreciate the old school way Knight did things too. agree totally with what you say about 'they all have something valid to say'

We supported the Albion when Archer was in charge. If Tony Bloom flogged the club back to him, we'd still support the Albion.

fair enough- hadn't really thought of it along those lines. Not sure it is a ridiculous question- just a not very well explained one.

Two. If I want local lean on the fence and banter with the subs bench type football, I can stroll down the road and watch Worthing.

Hopefully we're heading for a glorious Premier League future, but just because we've got a great new stadium and are gearing up all levels to be a top flight club, none of this guarantees success. We may have our dips in the future, so League 1 or worse may well beckon again at some point.

I'll still be an Albion fan, whether it feels corporate, community or somewhere in the middle.

Well I assume all these people like ROTR who keep saying they are going to cancel their season tickets because the club is becoming too corporate?

(My actual guess is none).

One but I wont be watching Brighton FC either.

I'll pop along to watch Whitehawk as much as hungover state allows me to spend time in Whitehawk on a saturday. I quite enjoy it, it's a completely different experience to watching the Albion (obviously I care less). But I'm a football fan who will gladly watch football at any level so it's good having another team in the city that I can pop along to.

They hardly ever play at home when we do anyway

Let's not confuse the word corporate with professional.

I am always amazed when people condem new supporters as plastics. Do we really want to try to stop having new fans and go back to the couple of thousand season ticket holders at Gillingham? That way we can take rattle around in our big new stadium and all have our ticket prices increase ten times to watch dreadful football. ..
