Why people sign up for this is beyond me....you tell the world what you had for breakfast...what you're doing,why you're doing it and if you have a major mishap you get trolls coming on to you with all the bile and tripe possible....sorry...only tw*ts twitter....

I love how people slag off twitter like this. You might as well question the value of a piece of paper because some idiot could write t*at on it.

I use it; excellent source of news, interesting articles, jokes, music stuff, football stuff. Then on match day, for the ex-pat like me, it's great having the bhafc hashtag on and seeing what people are saying about the game who are there and their pictures whilst your listening to the commentary. Adds to the experience.

So yeah, plenty of good reasons to use twitter.

This is surely Facebook that you're talking about because my twitter feed is nothing like what you've just described.

@northstandchat might come in handy?

Also a couple of excellent (Albion supporting) football journalists worth reading in @_PaulHayward and @NickSzczepanik

A most important tip for you if you follow any footballers, or anyone else prone to continually retweeting absolute rubbish:

-go to the little head and shoulders icon on their profile page
-click on the Turn Off Retweets option.

That way, every time some 15 year old gibbon tweets said footballer "Hi m8 massive fan, #buzzin 4 game on Tues, ne chance of a RT? #YOLO #BHAFC" and they oblige, you won't have it clogging up your timeline and you'll only see the tweets written by the person you follow.

@OldSchoolPanini for loads of old football sticker images.

@AdamVirgs19 Good old Virgo isn't necessarily the most diplomatic of footballers, which makes for great tweets at times

@HTFCworld links to the brilliant Huddersfield Town cartoon match reports (not Albion, I know, but they're always worth reading)

@HowAlanSeesIt aka Alan Shearer's Eyes, a piss take of Alan Shearer's inane MOTD analyses.

@WSC_magazine- When Saturday Comes magazine links

@BHASnappy for decent Albion photos, of players and crowds.

I'm disappointed to report that @DianaInHeaven is no longer tweeting. I did enjoy her posts.

Some very useful tips there thank you Edna.

We have an account and we use it to try and guage opinion etc ...

IMHO there aren't too many Albion tweeters who actually tweet things of interest about the club, sorry but true, as Edna put it, there's a lot of teenagers blurting out rubbish in as few characters as possible.

But of course, there are some good ones ... here's the TSLR recommendations;

@tslr : Us, of course
@WeAreBrighton : Good stuff from the website, loads of followers
@NorthStandChat : The best of Bozza without having to actually go on NSC
@SwSpTacchinardi : Excellent Albion writer and tweeter
@BrettMendoza : Albion fan who mainly tweets pictures of the seafront but also some choice BHA nuggets
@johhnycburger : JC from BBC Sussex, the nicest man in show business
@DannyLast : Albion fan but also excellent football tweeter

Can't think of any others at the moment but will add to list if i remember

I'd also recommend myself, as I write the Albion blogs for Shoot. Not sure how often people read them but I like to think I write something worthwile on most occasions!

Also groups of people from the various stands in the Amex have their own twitter pages. @amexnorthstand are the best I've found!

If you do any travelling, the train/bus companies are worth a follow. A note of caution though, know the difference between Southern's proper account and the spoof one! Many have fallen foul.
