He's a striker , if the ball fell to him one on one with the keeper, I'd rather it was him than El Abd, this thread is rather embarrassing

.....and if I was going to advocate playing someone out of position as a striker (whivh I'm not) it would be Calde rather than El Abd - Calde does actually seem to own a pair of shooting boots............

Steve Foster started his career as a centre forward. My whole point about El Abd was that we needed to get hold of Morgan to allow our players to go for goal Adam would have held him, pulled him jostled him and generally been a f.....g nuisance to him for 10 minutes.

type of striker.....kid.. (21 is a kid??)

You did badly there, not sure you're ever going to be ready for quality opinions on nsc.
Better sit it out for a year or two.

ok I'll bite on the generous assumption that you've misunderstood what all the other readers seem to have clearly grasped. Perhaps I could have articulated myself better for you but please don't opine so childishly on my contribution when you clearly have so little to contribute yourself.

By "kid" I meant inexperienced, untried, nervous, young (21 is still young in my books for a player to make his home debut at such an important stage of such an important match).
By "type of striker" I was referring to a player with pedigree, presence, track record, etc

By way of an example I suspect we were more fearful of Wood when he came on, than Leicester fans were when Barker came on.

I hope Barker's time will come but would have preferred to have had a more experienced option on the day..........simple!

Bugger El Abd going on up front, they should have chucked on Ankergren in attack. He would have diverted everybodies attention and create the space for Ulloa to smash in six goals.

Can't believe Gus hasn't realised it yet.

Greer scored some cracking headers...maybe into our own goal (burnley away)....but he scored

He wasn't good enough for a League Two club earlier on this season. Was given much abuse at Barnet for being lazy. Maybe he's sorted out his attitude or been given some magic boots from Luis Suarez if he's ready for the top of the Championship.

I thought that he did exactly what I expected nothing. IMHO we would have done better to put El Abd on up front with Ulloa to try to unsettle them and force a mistake just by using brute strength

Good job you're sitting in the stands and not the dugout then.

However you articulated, it disregards the manager's knowledge and intent in sending on this debutante.
Ward made a reasonable debut for The Albion - every match is meaningful and the fellow (not a kid at 21) needs to become a 1st teamer sometime.
Your concept of the big stage and young professional men who are trained with and by experienced guys ought to change, not mine.

Clough's Notts Forrest won a European Cup - from a shambolic rabble of used-up carthorses.

Barnet? Are they better shaped to judge our potentials?
I see posters wondering when reserve lads will get a game. When they do they get this kind of thread EVEN when doing ok.
