Did you listen to the game? We were really unlucky tonight (also unlucky against Bolton), their penalty was dodgy and for our one their keeper made a good save, in open play we crafted more than them and can consider ourselves really hard done by.

I was at bolton and whilst we played ok, we never really created much to actually look like making their keeper make a save. Tonight, I wasn't there, however its not about tippy tapping it around, its about results. Poyet lacks the awareness of how to change games and get something out of games.

Somewhere in Cyprus
Gus has been the most successful manager for us over the last few decades.
1 promotion season
2 seasons toying with the playoffs in a very tough league
I think that people who slate Gus just dont really know what this club has been through so I just ignore them

I should think we all want value for money for the price we all pay. I am not suggesting pandering at all i am suggesting we all give it our all for the final 9 games and see what happens rather than getting on their backs. We can still do this. I don t think the performances recently have been great but it was only 2 weeks ago we were hailing them for winning 4-1.

nice to have an actual discussion rather than people just slagging you off..

at the moment its about results, peformances go out of the window. I don't care if we look pretty and tap it round everywhere, find a way to make it happen.. Poyet has shown he can't do this continually when we go a goal behind

its not about slating Gus at all. Its his tactics and how long you keep putting up with these excuses. ultimatley, he is being paid alot of money and isn't meeting expectations. that in any job is not a good way to continue going forward is it? - he may well be meeting your expectations, but mine are higher than yours at the moment. with our squad, we should be comfortably in the play offs. the fact we are barely hanging on to 6th place is not something I would say is an achievement.

If we all thought the same life would be boring. I appreciate what your saying as stats don t lie in terms of us coming from behind to win a game. I for one was hoping ulloa would help change this as he seems to be the type of player to give us a second option. I want results as much as anyone and for the final 9 games i would trade the performances for results just like at Cardiff. But people saying gus should go i think are wrong as well may a well right off the rest of the season now. So i think if we all give our all for the team hopefully they will respond and a playoff place may still be achievable.

Against the bottom side you forgot to add. Ow and we've been unlucky for 2 seasons now with strikers, penalties, refs, injuries, bookings...Or maybe we are too inconsistent and not good enough for the same reasons as last year which is why many including me are very frustrated tonight. We're at the business end of the season and hate as I do to admit we are still way adrift of quality required to challenge for promotion. And could get a hiding against our bitter rivals. It's not all rosey, there's plenty to be fecking miserable about tonight you know!

I think all of the current top 6 as well as bolton blackburn and a few others have a better squad than us. Our first 11 is as good as anyone but when we have injuries the people that come in in my opinion are not as good yet inn terms of quality and for the way we play i think you need to find the right players like swansea did and build it slowly. They played great football for a few years before they finally got all the right pieces and when they did they were well set for the premier league instead of being a yoyo club.

I don't think any of the players or manager are any less committed than us supporters. Based on the fact that most of the teams in this division continue to be inconsistent and lose to lesser teams then I suspect that all the supporters of the other clubs feel just as we do.

I don t think people are saying all is perfect as 1 point in 9 is not good no matter who we are playing. Our squad i think is not as good as 10 other sides on paper but we can still make the playoffs yet. 10th last year was bot a bad return at all and if we improve on that and build or next year i would be happy

Not that much a lot of blooms money spent on stadium, so until he sees return on that we will be middle of the road in terms of spending.

9th would be an improvement but I don't think football needs to be or is usually about incremental improvements year on year. Often teams fly up leagues and plummet like stones. Mid table obscurity is a byword for boring!

I would actually say Micky Adams mk1 or Mark Mchgee did more with the funds avaliable.

Not really. Swansea ayes great football for 2 years before getting promoted. However when they did because they built a squad that could play the game on the deck they were well suited to the premier league and have managed to sustain that. I would rather this than say reading this year to much to soon. I to want to see progress and excitment and hopefully that will come and i believe it will.

Made same point on another thread and got called deluded for stating Cattlin and Lloyd were actually better managers than Gus. This Latin flair marketing overseas managers can do no wrong argument doesn't hold up in my book. It's like everyone banging on about Gus might take all these premiership jobs everytime a vacancy crops up. Fans other clubs always saying to me you must be worried, Gus might replace Lambert, Adkins, McDermott, McCarthy and best of all Matteo or Benitez! And everytime I ask why? Why would he? A premiership chairman like Abromovich should appoint Holloway or Parkinson or Bruce before Poyet because they've all achieved something in the game. Same with di Canio? Just what have these Latin foreign managers actually achieved by comparison? I'm beginning to understand why so many English managers feel hard done by. We seem obsessed with foreign managers when actually the McCarthy and Bruce's and Mcdermotts have achieved something. Promotion from League 1 - yep, you're in the same class as Ferguson junior not senior! So why does this make you qualified to manager Chelsea?! Or even Reading? Poyet still ranks behind Barry Lloyd in terms of achievement and he got dogs abuse for years. Gus doesn't know he's born!!!!

I can see what you are saying but abramovic is obsessed with pretty football. We play that and if anyone can not get mata hazard oscar and marin to play good football then there are isses so i can see why gua is linked to that job. I feel sorry for mcdermott and adkins as both should mot have been sacked imo opinion. There does seem to be a trend of playing the spanish way as it works i you have the right players but some clubs should realise that they should stick to what they know like stoke. Not pretty but is effective enough of the time to keep them up. I still think gus is our man a the moment but he does need to work out how these players can win a game from a goal down.

Well Benitez hasn't managed for much of this season! But yes, I see your point too. I'd like to see a bit I both. That's why Utd are so successful, fergus builds sides that can scrap a win and play dream passing game. Much like Liverpool teams of the eighties too

Exactly. A little bit of perspective on this would be no bad thing, and maybe less of the 'bigging ourselves up' wouldn't go amiss either. I for one am very proud of what Gus and the team have achieved in the last few years...let's not be too hasty, eh? And yes, even if the almost inevitable happens on Sunday, it still doesn't mean the season's over.....unless you want it to be.
