They have 10 goals and 10 assists between them in just 37 total games. Exactly what you want from your midfielders and something we missed last year.

Just as well given CMS lack of goals

Cracking players both. Add to that Vicente's two goals in three(ish) games and our midfield is finally pulling it's weight... Funny given how people were slating Spanish Dave 5 months ago.

It's definitely been called for, Reading were smacking goals in from all over the the pitch, this time last year.

It's still not enough all the time whoever is playing up front can't score, but we'd certainly be fooked without it.

In all honesty Dave took time settling in here; as you can see from above apart from his goal at Millwall, he didn't score or get an assist in 2012. I hope Ulloa is like him, taking his time to find his feet as Dave is quickly becoming an ever present on the team sheet. Orlandi is just sheer class

Orlandi in particular has turned out to be a superb signing.

I put up a somewhat less inflammatory thread about Dave, a couple of weeks before Withdean Wanderer.

The first half of the season he was getting the love from the team, about his training, but we were never seeing it.

I'm so glad it's all coming together, he certainly seems to be enjoying himself.
I still don't see him as 'another Vicente', as he was promoted.
But that doesn't mean he isn't a seriously classy footballer, we're very lucky to have.

Lopez's football brain and reading of the game are top class.

You can see why Athletic Club paid 6 million Euros for him and why he played 100-odd times in the most technical league in the world.

He thrives when Buckley isn't in the team.

I couldn't get them both in the same team on FM, glad it wasn't just me being a bit rubbish. No question Dave over Buckley currently.

its better than that --- Dave has SIX assists as well

you have missed out DERBY and BLACKBURN (he won the penalty that he converted so gets a self-assist)

Can someone explain to me why Gus always takes Orlandi off with 20+ minutes to go when he is playing well and obviously neither tired nor injured?

Hasn't been back in the team for long after injury. A couple of times when he's been subbed he did look knackered. Seems reasonable to me.
