In fairness Zaha is better suited to our current England side which likes to play some route one football, it would be a waste picking Buckley

The report did go on to say, but was sadly omitted from the above link that Buckley was not chosen as he is too good, and it was thought zahahahaha may just cope with the poor level that England play at.

If Gus is worried about Will's fitness etc..... then it is good for BHA that he is omitted.

I thought he was rested because Wolves weren't any good and he was not needed. But it may in case he was called up for England in a pointless friendly.

I've just been sent a trivia question asking how many people in the last 25 years have been in an england squad and have a surname beginning with Z. Now, for the life of me I can't think of anyone other than Bobby Z and this fella from Crystal Palace everybody is talking about. But it can't be that easy surely?

A thick question but how does Zaha qualify? Does he hold dual nationality or is it because he has been here 16 years?

Born Ivory Coast, move to England at 3 years old. Is an English citizen. Played in every England youth set up. Called up to senior squad. Considers himself English but interested in playing in the ACN unless he felt he'd have a real chance with England which is exactly why Roy is picking him for a friendly. Throwing him a bone so he doesn't accept the Ivory Coast potential call up. I'd love Roy to give him a cap in a competitive fixture before the ACN but I guess he'll want to see him properley for himself first which is fair enough really.

Think you'll find he moved here at 14 years old, which is why I find it odd that Palace claim him to from your academy.

I was wrong it was 4 years old not 3 years old that he moved to South London. Not sure where you found 14 years old from but I'm quoting the Guardian, the PFA database and (admittedly) his Wikipedia page.

Got it from his Wiki page before it was changed after having the very same argument with a Palace supporting family member.

It clearly stated the name of the club he was with in Ivory coast until he was 14.

Seems a little fishy to me. Certainly gary Issot (Academy Manager) seems to think he's a product of the Palace academy, as do all officials at the club. As do all media outlets.
Seems likely that a Brighton fan or some other saboteur changed his wiki and its since been changed back.

Not sure, funny though that there is no reference to when he came here anywhere now, something is very fishy and I think the authorities need to look at the matter.

Dunno about the authorities but perhaps the Wikipedia Gods do. ESPN has his birthplace as England and football.co.uk has it as Reading lmao. Lots of people clearly haven't done their homework very well. For the record he was born in Abidjan in the Ivory Coast.
