Arsenal losing now too, what with the mancs scraping a win last night and all the others losing perhaps the premiership ain't as good as we all think

That Russian/Brazilian team looked very good last night, could even give the Spanish teams a game

I think europe know what possession and technique means rather than pace and power

City won the PL on goal difference from a pretty poor Manu side last season and with a squad "worth" nearly £500m they are hardly worth the bother. I'm watching on Dutch TV and they didn't give Ajax much of a chance (including Edwin van der Sar in the studio), Ajax aren't pulling up any trees in Holland but they deserve the scoreline without doubt. BTW Arsenal are crap too, 2-0 down at home.

Arsenal were also awful tonight. Really poor arsenal team. Probably the poorest since wenger has been in charge.

German fans are probably the best in the world at creating incredible atmospheres at their top grounds. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are all doing well in their groups because the crowd are like a 12th man to them. And the reason? They only charge around a tenner admission, have safe organised terraces and football still belongs to the fans over there.

I still get amazed that a team with all the money in the world and world class strikers on the bench every week have Julian Lescott as their permanent centre back.

Well hopefully the English teams will all get knocked out early so that a change in coaching and playing styles at club level takes place. No point making the players try to play a certain way when they play for English only to go back to their clubs and play a completely different way.

I doubt having them all knocked out is going to force a change in coaching and playing style, to be honest.

Four English PL clubs are "interested" in the champions league.Losses for those four will not unduly impact on the coaching, running or style of the other PL clubs.

extreme e.g. Pullis " OK,we'll swich to playing like Barcelona."
