Ashley Barnes, midway through the second half on Saturday produced a smart save from Steele.
But thats all he did,.. one pass and one shot all game,....

I'm sure Dobbie will come good. The way he took Southampton apart for Blackpool live on the BBC last season springs to mind. He always seems to be in the promotion shake-up for whoever he is playing for in this Division. Promoted twice via the play-offs with Blackpool and Swansea. Hopefully that good fortune will rub off on us.

I've got a good feeling about our trip to Leicester tomorrow night :albion2:

We need the target man/striker to not necessarily start every game, but to be on the bench ready to come on when we need a Plan B. Not sure what our corner count was on Saturday, but quite high, and some decent corners too, but with no one getting on the end of them we're wasting our time.

Thats what we all want....

Gus (seemingly) doesn't. Makes me wonder what spiel Dobbie was given when signing given he wanted out of Swansea as he wasn't getting starts. I can't believe Gus didn't plan to have him playing in the same side as CMS but I'm totally baffled as to why he didn't start Saturday (and Buckley too).

Almost as mystifying as Gus's comments that he's happy with our form ... teams will sit back knowing we can't score so how can he be happy, just because we dominate possession? Possession that the opposition allow us to have!

But that header should never tested their keeper. It was a free header on the edge of the six yard box from an excellent cross. THe keeper shyouldn't have got near it, but if you head it at the center of the goal, he's going to save it

I don't see why it comes down to how we do on Tuesday.

We either need one or we don't.

Go and get a loan striker now, or don't bother. Why judge it on ONE game. That sort of statement belongs on NSC.

So we lose 3-1 on Tuesday, we won't get one because we scored?

Really? Has he been misquoted, or is he slowly losing the plot?

Amazing isn't it. Poor team selections, and now almost a weekly post match comments that have everyone going.... WTF!

Thing is teams know our style and plan accordingly. If we have a plan B on the bench i.e a target man, then all Poyet does is take off CMS and replace him with the target man i.e like Vokes last year. So the ball goes to a target man who lays it off to.................... oh yes we have taken off the partner striker.

Why cant we have a target man that plays alongside CMS, with Dobbie playing that midfielder/striker role. That way we can vary the play abit during the match. If nothing else it would keep opponents guessing a bit more. With Poyet we are so predicatable with or without a target man.

To be honest, I don't think we have EVER started with 2 up front, well especially not last season. We are predictable, so so true.

Edit: Barnes had a shocker on the weekend, and i am usually the one defending him. Fell over way too much for my liking and blasted that header and shot directly at Steele, easy save for the keeper.

Greer played dreadful also. No idea why he shouted at PIG when their goal went in, it deflected of him and he should have been closing him down better.

No No No. That's not fair on Ashley. He also had a good few rants at the referee as well.
My mistake not mentioning it, I had taken that as read.....
