It was supposed to be an ironic cheer aimed at the Wednesday fans but so many of ours were leaving as well it didn't quite have the intended impact.

Re: Brighton & Hove Albion v Sheffield Wednesday **** Official Match Thread ****

It was a two sided chant. Brighton started it as Wednesday started to leave, but then our own fans poured out, allowing Wednesday to return the compliment.

The debate rears it's head again. As usual, the team deserved better than to be clapped off the pitch by a half-empty stadium at full time - frankly it's a bit crap isn't it after a performance like that?

Well having an expansion does mean more use for P&R and trains, so longer queues - so people leave earlier to not wait as long (i left on the 90 minute mark and waited 15 minutes instead of 45 minutes leaving on the final whistle for Cardiff).

They did deserve better than that yes. But the bigger the scoreline the earlier people will leave! Some save an hour longer journey from missing 5 mins of a match and as the match was dead it was always going to be the case.

We left on 86 mins. Usually I stay till the end, clap the boys off then stop for a beer or two to let the queues die down but I had to be home to start work at 11 and I couldn't take a chance on being late.

We win, go top and play some outstanding football and STILL people leave literally in their thousands! I find the whole thing totally disrespectful. Stay and applaud your team off. If you've brought kids you know theyre going to get to bed late AND no school in the morning? The east looked embarrassing at 90 minutes. These are great days to be an albion fan, if that performance doesnt make you stay to cheer the lads off then i guess nothing will.

Up here on the left.
Work starts in 6 weeks on the signalling and platform improvements. This will allow more and longer trains. Hopefully the improvements will mean less of the early departure of fans.

I agree it was a poor show from our fans not to clap that performance, in fact it was embarrassing.

Going to the Amex you now have to adhere to an NSC code of conduct, must sing, must buy a pie and pint, must NOT leave early zzzzzzz

Get over it, you pay your money, you do what you want.

It's not just full time though, loads of fans left at 37 minutes and came back at 49 minutes, certainly in the north, makes for a really dead pre and post half time.

We can see into the main car park behind the south east corner from our WSU seats... I kid you not, there was a queue of cars leaving at 81 minutes..... that is poor , very poor.....

Who was that chant aimed at? so many people in the south stand were leaving at 80 mins it was unbelievable...

west stand started to empty with 10 minutes to go, a good song to be sung from the north at this point would be You`re an Embarrassment

we had enough early leavers in the north stand to stare at without worrying about the west stand!

Awful display by the thousands departing early anyone would have thought we were 3-0 down.I was up and down like a f**cking yo yo ten mins before the end till the final whistle and before half time letting people pass grrrrrrrrr. I stayed till 10.20 and straight on the Mill Road P and R. One of the best displays by an Albion side and so few to cheer them off ffs. This 'pay your money, make your choice' shite is ridiclous , you don't get half a cinema or theatre audience leave 10 ins before the end. As dear old Cloughie said - it only takes a second to score a goal ! I realise some have to leave but not thousands ffs .

It's all about the transport. If leaving 5 minutes early means cutting your queueing time from 50 to 15 minutes, it's going to keep happening.

And it does, getting home (and subsequently going out with mates) at 10.30 or 11.15 - thats why people leave early. Some people really need to get over it, each person pays money so if they leave early for whatever reason - its their choice. Some people will literally find anything to moan at

Should add that the queues for the train on the Lewes side were incredibly long last night as well.
