I'd been really happy with our business over the summer. Would have been happy with that. Rather than promising activity the point the OP is making is that Gus should have said "I don't see that much happening now tbh." Rather, he has stoked a fair few hopes up.
Anyhow, there's still a few hours to go, so let's wait and see. We may well be proved wrong. We're just opening a legitimate thread too early that's all.
Still in Gus we trust as far as I'm concerned.

He said there was a possibility of 6 or 7 things coming in. Which judging by the fact Gus is prone to being misinterpreted and that we obviously don't need 6 or 7 players meant that this was the number of possibilities, for example he intended to sign 3 players with the other 4 options if the others failed.
If you were genuinely expecting to come home and find out we've signed 7 players you need a reality check.
Oh and as for why your thread was deleted, I'd imagine the language used was not appreciated.
