Which striker do we really want ?

I know its been doing the rounds but realistically who would we really want or get, or do we just stick with the squad we,ve got ?

I'm not sure who Gus has his eyes on, but we need a striker. Current options are very limited in that department.

Need a player with strength, height and an eye to play others in...

Ie the type of Heskey/carton cole/ g Murray....none may get 20 goals but could be invaluable in enabling others to maximise potential.

Now we have Crofts I'm quite happy with what we have, that being a striker with members of the midfield in the same half as him.

We need a Glen Murray type player - Palace fans won't know what I mean and they wont find out this year but in 2013/14 when he is chasing a new contract they will get to see what he can do. Glen isn't a lazy player but he only seemed to play flat out when his future was at stake. It's why I think Gus was right not to break the bank to keep him - he was never going to agree a 12 month contract and a three year deal means 2 wasted years when he underachieves and only shows glimpses of his value.

Heskey would be a good option in my view and I think Cole would do a job although I would rather someone young with the same attributes - I just can't think of anyone other than Rhodes and he is beyond our reach. But then Gus saw what Barnes could offer when no-one else did so maybe he will pull another one out of the bag.
