Let's stay away from standard facebook, youtube, iPlayer & twitter apps. The idea is to let eachother know what's out on the iStore.

Is there an app available for an iPhone that let's you send free MMS messages,to non iPhone's? I was told iMessage was,but can't get it to work(just normal tx's).

Messages will default to sending an iMessage (for free) if the destination phone is an iPhone. The message will be blue to indicate this. If the destination phone is not known to be an iPhone, or you don't have data connectivity, it will go as an SMS and be charged according to your contract/network plan. These will be green.

(I've no idea on other apps for this as my £10/mo GiffGaff plan includes unlimited text (and data) so is not a concern.)

iMessage only works to other Apple devices.

There is WhatsApp Messenger, but both phones need to have the app installed (apple or android) to send texts between them for free.

Thanks guys. Basically,I will just have to pay to send pic messages to mates with normal mobiles. Pity,as I have the fantastic WhatsApp app,unlike most of my mates. I have no such problems with SMS tx messages,as they're unlimited on my O2 £15.50 p/m sim only plan. Each pic costs 35p :-(

As an aside, I loaded up a game on the free app store called "monsters ate my condo" it's the weirdest, brainfrying, eyepopping game you'll play. Great fun
