There are some clubs that dont like Brighton because of the trouble Brighton have caused in their town and ground. Palace and Pompey are a bit different as its 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other but I've met Aldershot, Southend, Chesterfield and other fans from clubs like this who have mentioned this.

I remember years ago Brighton caused trouble at Ipswich at an end of season. It was the era when it was all the fashion to go to the last game in fancy dress.

No excuse but it might explain the Ipswich attitude but some on this board have a passionate dislike for Millwall who have really not caused half as much trouble at Brighton compared to the trouble that Brighton caused at Ipswich that day. As such I suppose we have to look at Brighton as well as other clubs.

Also Brighton is a big away day for alot of clubs and as such some people do get over excited.

There are quite a few on there too who are critisising the posting of homophobic abuse. However it doesn't really help when we post things on there like this TWTD.co.uk | Forum | What Town fans need to know about the Amex – Homophobic Abuse by BrightonEye ... :ffsparr: Started well but the ending just undid all of the good work.

Really?
It pretty much nailed it on the head, from what I could see written there.

It's not as though they were threatened with a sound BUMMING if they call us homos and bandits. Although....... ???

Posted on thier forum says it all really,

"Been surprised to see you let so many of them get away with it.

It's resembling a room full of sniggering juveniles on here."

"The Brighton fans have a point when they say we are 30 years behind te rest of the world."

Noldi.

Homophobic inbred narrow minded country boys slag off gay seaside town football club fans. Is that the general gist of this thread?

Yes, and it's a shock to me as all the Ipswich fans I have ever met have been really pleasant people....

The Roy Keane era must have a lot to answer for.

I don't think it's a case of being offended. We're just calling them out over the unoriginal shite they're spewing.

I think people are now get offended because of everything that is going on within football to stamp it out. And from what I have heard myself, and from some of the abuse people have received outside the ground, its gone way past banter.

If those threads where all about someones colour, that forum would be closed down and the people who said it would be investigated.

What they are doing on there is pushing their luck. They are seeing how far they can go. Hopefully at 5pm they will be moaning about how badly their team played today instead.

We have heard this for years, as you say nothing new totally unoriginal from the inbred, tractor driving, thick as pig shit farmers!!!! I wonder if they have heard that before......its the banter and abuse between teams that has gone on for years and will do for years to come. I think people are going well over the top about the homaphobic stuff this season.

What a bunch of knuckle draggers. Sad to see there are still parts of the UK where this type of undeveloped world view still exists. Poor things

Read a bit of it and it seems the usual mix of those who think it's banter and those who think it's outdated homophobic tripe. Same as on here really. No big deal.
