A fine and talented individual, but for my money he is an out and out central midfielder. Face it, he tackles well, passes, and does all the hard work.

A great payer, just out of position.

In a similar way, Calderon is clearly a right-sided midfielder rather than a defender.

He does seem to look a bit isolated sometimes going forward too far, too quickly. Maybe a Scholes position just behind a forward line would work better?
I've got a lot of love for the man, but do you think he's creative enough to play 'in the hole'?

The thing I love most about him, and I'm sure many would agree, is the way he takes the pressure off of the rest of the team by tirelessly and constantly chasing the ball down never giving the opposition defenders a moments rest. It's much more than just running around like a headless chicken and I don't think this contribution can be underestimated. Admittedly he should have more goals to his name but I have no doubt it's just a matter of time before they start coming. Absolute cult hero in the making.

to be a central midfielder you need an eye for a pass and have have a good first touch. CMS has neither of those qualities. However i think he would make a very good long distant runner.

He just needs to wear a Peterborough shirt underneath his Brighton one...

I have never seen anyone work so hard and defend so well from the front - wonderful stuff. He is in a run of not scoring - every forward has these runs. He will soon be scoring loads I have no doubt of that at all. He is going to be a great player for this club.

Considering he scored a goal everyother game at peterborough i would suggest thats bollocks, the man is a goal scorer and for the millionth time we don't play to his strenghs.

So why is he selected every week if we dont play the way he needs us to play? Gus has said we will play a certain way and no other. If this doesnt suit CMS then why do we play him?

he's got an engine, the great Liverpool teams of the 80s defended from front to back to f*** the opposition up, he does that

I'm spouting utter gibberish and do not know what I'm on about

Exactly. Don't get me wrong, his work rate IS excellent and some runs nhe makes are relly good but now we have Vokes I'd like to see someone else given a go.

Though that point desn't stand up when you consider the last 5 games and their points yield! Something is working!

Those stats were in League 1, he just don't cut it at Championship level
