I think it is a big problem for them, they will become more and more unpopular around the world and then, heaven forbid, more American people might start to see through the controlled media.

You wont find many Canadians complaining about them becoming more unpopular..... But when they see threw their very controlled media it will make great viewing for the rest of us :lolol:

This is really Pytonesque, "You are only making things worse for yourself".

TBH its all bollocks, The USA has it allies and enemies like most countries. Its just the European left thats bitter because the yanks have shown you can be succcessful without socialism.

Just maybe not sustained success. I suppose it depends on your definition of success also.

we won 1 nil today (if yer interested) I thought it was Buckley but apparently it was an OG

I can think about more than one things at a time. If you would like to focus only on the magnificent cup win then maybe this thread is not for you (Sorry if the thread title made you think it was about the game).

What do you mean not sustained ? Theyve been a super power for over 65 years, have had the highest GDP per capta for almost as long, been in the top part of the education and health tables also. What do you call success? Destroying your Democracy and letting Foreign nations push you about?

Having a reasonable gap between rich and poor. Having a fair health system. Not killing thousands of innocent people around the world to support your GDP per capita. Having a well educated people with a sound understanding of what is happening around the world and the impact that the people they voted into power have in it.

I think we are beginning to see the power and wealth of the US fade.

No I just think your timing's shite, you've 'got something to say' then try it on a Thursday morning, you'll get more views and replies

I see Sunday Morning is for football and Thursdays are for US Politics.

I have an interesting thread about how to make the perfect coffee could you let me know when I can post that?

Maybe you could draw up some kind of timetable and sticky it for me?

you mean you hope to see it fade. You wont know anything with posts as clueless as yours. The fact is wars make countries poorer and more debt ridden not wealthier, This as universally true as Dandyman talks bollocks about the falklands. WW1 and 2 cost us the Empire, it impoverished Persia before the Islamic invasion 2000 years ago, it has kept Ulster and Ireland relativly backward. It does not add to GDP you fool.

Most sane people dont care about reasonable gaps between wealthy and poor, they want reasonable oppertunities of becoming wealthier and thats why the USa has been successful.

I agree with your general principle about war but I think that there is an awful lot of money to be made through oil and the rebuilding of these countries (most of these contracts go to US companies with links to the political structure).

Perhaps you could enlighten me so my next words will not be quite so clueless. What are the real reasons for the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and impending war in Iran are?

And I guess that by your reasoning my wanting a more equitable world with less people living in poverty throughout it, makes me insane. I will seek professional help immediately.

Actually that's not quite correct. It is true that during wars countries can suffer greatly in economical. Conversley though once the war is over that often leads to an absolute boon for economic growth as there's often so much internal infrastructure that needs to be replaced the need for labour increases greatly and as such unemployment drops and the consumers confidence to spend increases.

Japan is a prime example of this in play.
