Jara Reyes was arrested when police stopped an Audi Q7 sportscar in Richmond Terrace, Brighton, on Saturday morning. Police said he was taken into custody at about 11am.

So where does it say he was drunk ?

:edit:

just seen your reply, fair do's.

So Vicente is immature for being injured ?

came out a bit wrong :dunce:

reyes is a good player. rightly. he's just turning into tony adams. we need someone without that mentality at the moment, as good as reyes, just to keep things moving, but I don't think we will be signing him again

as for vicente he's good and all, but surely the board + gus knew from his record that he was injury prone and he only has 6-7 months left. Do we need a player who can play vicente good out of the squad every game?

is he STILL injured, or homesick, or what..

No-one used to moan about players drinking in the 80s & 90s (and before) so again, whats the big deal?

The big deal is that the world of football has moved on significantly.

I'm firmly on the fence on this one, on one side I detest DUI drivers but what he has been arrested for is driving whilst disqualified. No different to many footballers who have lost licences for speeding, dangerous driving etc.

If he was over the limit on Saturday then yes through the book at him, but he wasn't. Hopefully he has leant his lesson about drink driving, but also what were the circumstances of his conviction, I bet there are a few who park and the ground or the park and ride who are slightly over the limit when they drive home from a game, but are just fortunate not to have been stopped or had an accident.

On the other side he is undoubtably a class player who, injuries permitting will make a big impact.

Given he was driving whilst banned I'd suggest not. Or do you mean now he has been arrested a second time?

I think he is looking a great player but I don't want him at the club. He was convicted of drink driving and was nearly twice the legal limit, not 'just' over and therefore, in some posters eyes, a forgiveable mistake. Luckily for him he was stopped and breath tested before he hurt someone. And then, he ignored the punishment. We know he ignored it once, but how many other times as he done the same. And this on the morning of a match. As someone else said, he could afford a driver or at the least, a taxi but as a result of his actions, we had to field a weakened team.

Find myself agreeing with you Drew

FFS, Gonzo. Aren't we supposed to have a sustainable transport policy which discourages the use of cars?

For the love of Gus, has he never heard of Jason Kitcat?

Good points, well made there. That said, maybe should give the guy a BREAK (wot with it being the season o' goodwill & all that)?

FWIW, I obviously think Reyes has been a total arsehole. He must have the brains of a friggin' Rocking Horse.
