Well it wasnt me personally as I'm a north stander .

Anywayz my brother in law, his brother and son got ejected from the West Stand Lower at half time last night and were split up outside the ground by the police and indiviually questioned and then asked to leave.

They were about 3rd row in from the front and stood up when Noone nearly scored and then remained standing for the corner up the far end so they could see (They were down the north stand end of the west stand) . A season ticket holder next to them then starting kicking off saying his 14 year old son couldnt see if they stood up ... Anyway they got a bit heated and unfortunately did swear at the bloke because every time they stood up this bloke constantly kicked off.

They went off for a half time beer , came back to the seats for the second half to be confronted by ten stewards and were promptly ejected from the ground. Even one of the stewards commented that they get loads of complaints from this said person every week. Now from where I sit in the North I have noticed people getting thrown out nearly every week from the same area and to be honest always thought they were away fans. But obviously not.

It was the brother in laws, brothers first ever trip to the Amex and he has followed them for years and years , from Goldstone to Gillingham to Withdean and also alot of away games but due to his line of work cannot commit to a season ticket as cannot get weekends off anymore . After this incident he said he will never come back. I appreciate they shouldnt have sworn at the bloke but when your team arent performing tensions do and can run high and things can easily come out in the heat of the moment . They were not even given the option to move, even when a fair few fans said they could sit next to them if they wanted the stewards just insisted on slinging them out.

£92 down the pan for 45 mins of football and 3 fans that will never return to the Amex and their children too very unlikely to come to the Amex now.

Surely there must be a better way of dealing with these matters ???

what a sad story. are you suggesting someone in that area is getting people regularly thrown out for standing? they are pretty strict on it - even back row of WSU they are making you sit down if you stay up to long - but this is more to do with safety than anything else. presumably if you lose your rag at someone out you go

to be honest mate thats more or less what the steward told them on the way out !! Same bloke complaining every week .

I dont think its the right thing to do to reveal the said seat number but i am sure many around him know who he is !!

One thing the bloke said to my brother in law was ..... for gods sake sit down , we nearly scored but we didnt so sit down its only a corner and probably wont score so you dont need to stand up to watch a corner !!

this is disgusting..is this person well connected then?

the people in the row behind me climb on my companion's seat rather than going up the stairs and around the railing...stewards do f*** all about it and it's bloody annoying. when they break her seat I'm going to go mental..

Sounds a tad OTT ....although I don't condone the swearing.....had a guy very near to me who was leaping around the whole game ...in some ways it was quite comical ..I though the was going to hav a heart attack as he was getting so stressed out ..but he was clearly causing a disruption to a few people and yet the stewards did nothing

Think the stewarding is ott at the Amex, too many of them imho.

Shame this has left such a bad taste. Perhaps you should contact the club and see if they are prepared to do anything about it.

dont understand what you mean mate ??? when you say is the person well connected then ???

I am really pissed off for them too to be honest , as a family we have all spent thousands of pounds following the albion for years and then they get treated like this on one of them's first ever trip to the Amex . Looks very likely my two young nephews will now never see their team play at the Amex.

It seems things are really strict at the mo. I've heard of a lot of people getting bans. Surely a warning would be sufficient in most cases

i meant connected in that the stewards never even dreamed to ask the people they chucked out their side of the story, just listening to some grumpy old sod who wants everyone to bow to his wishes.

Maybe if they had sat down for the corner then they might have seen the second half. Maybe if they hadn't sworn and aggravated the situation they might have seen the second half. Maybe the guy has got a seat in WSL because he can't leap up and down, I don't know. Perhaps he would have been more tolerant if the group had been. Having said that, getting thrown out seems a bit harsh, surely a last chance warning would be more appropriate.

tbh Pandapops i wasnt sat with them so I dont know exactly what was said...... it just frustrates me that other fans said they could stand / sit with them but were not even given the option. Surely a first chance warning second chance out cant be too hard to police .........

My brother in law did say that to the police ..... how come a whole stand can verbually abuse a football player and a referee and when i swear at another fan i get kicked out ???

The policeman replied..... what happens inside the ground is Brightons matter what happens outside is our matter and you are now outside .... (weird response)

Not really its Brightons problem in the ground they can do what they like.

It does seem over the top, watching it on TV last night there were stewards telling people to sit down, that said if ya near the front i dont see why ya need to stand up? i can understand if we score but not really the rest.

The standers are just selfish bullies. They come on here taking the high moral ground, but in this case why shouldn't they sit and let the STH and young son enjoy what they have paid for-a seat and a view. Well done the stewards for upholding the T & C of the tickets.

it's a bleeding marvel. i do like the stewards and the police, they're largely good to me, but sometimes they just do things because they almost want to just shut people up. Did anyone say this 'im getting you kicked out' guy was a STH? If so, he should be moved o_O If not, he should stop going. I can't understand the logic of people with kids who didn't want to sit in the family stand, and then expect 14000 other fans not to swear.

but it gets better. It's like when you have someone at your house and they try and nag you into not doing what they don't like.

i think if he paid for tickets to he has the right to see the game? i think you are meant to sit down in a seated area?
