i dont like this money talk bollocks seems a reason for a defeat to me, if money talked they would have won more than 3 games this season.

We were just outplayed today, we missed a sitter at the end to make it 1-1 and if that had gone it we would have been what a result and money buys ya nothing

Leicester had better players than us , £10M+ spent on bringing in quality pros before the transfer window ended has saved Sven from getting the sack.

Even the Barcelona's, Man U's etc lose every now and again doesn't mean they can't win the league because of ONE bad performance.
If we had taken our chances today we could've won then everyone on here would be saying we're fuckin brilliant. If we lose the next few games then I'll start to panic but for now i feel strangely content with today's result.

& who is top? is it just me or have Middlesbrough crept up from nowhere to be where they are now or what?

its incredibly unlikely Boro will stay in top two for long....but to be fair if we stay in/around the play off spots all season it will be incredible...
With money/players in squad west ham & leicester still have to be faves for top two

Still not really happy(although the last few weeks have been good)to look at the table until 12-15 games in,or where we are at the start of October.

Medium term this result will help us,and although it hurts it was only 1-0,as Gus said "we are hard to beat".

59 league games since successive defeats only Everton ahead in all 4 divs
37 games since defeat by more than 1 goal, best of all 92
Heads up & move on

Not the real one
In the grand scheme of things, we have had a brilliant start and played some brilliant stuff. What worries me a little is that our midfield got totally overrun. If the Midfield can get on top of the game then our Fullbacks push forward. Unfortunately we were overrun and their forward play left us exposed at the back.
I know Bridcutt is quality and Dicker can play some great stuff, but it sounded like Harley had a mare.
Other than that I think we'll beat more teams than we lose and if we keep most players fit we can challenge at least for play-offs.

You're dead right mate.
PL always has some rogue teams near top early doors like Hull & Blackpool in recent years, but the high spending ManUre, Chelski, and now ManCity alway float to the top.
Same principle in Championship. No insult to Gus & the Albion.
The point is the money invariably buys you stronger, faster, better players, and some with PL experience.

Long before the sending off they'd had 3 times the chances.
Been on the cards for a while. Painter has been heavily exposed for pace against wingers, and non-genius-Sven would have simply looked at tapes of the Albion.
Gus will learn as always.

Must be positive, great start & we had chances today even though under par. It's nice to know that there are people on here who know better than Gus, so no need to worry!

Chins up, onward & upward!

p.s. I knew dropping & smashing my Brighton mug pre game was a bad omen!

Can you buy and then smash a liverpool mug sometime wednesday morning Smudge.

Jeez, there's some miserable buggers calling in on the radio this afternoon.
We're just promoted, second in the table, huge potential, - and the doom and gloom merchants crawl out of the woodwork as soon as we lose one game.

It gets on my wick.

But to be fair, they have paid a lot of dosh to go up and watch it.

They may well have, but if they are true supportive fans, they won't start slagging off players at the first possible opportunity. I don't care how much they've paid to go to see the game - they should realise that we will lose games and we will have bad games. There's no guarantee that you'll see a great game when you go to a match - players will make poor decisions, the manager might get the substitutions wrong; all of us have bad days and good days - that's being human. Players are human too.

Some people have lost sight of what being a fan is all about - sticking with your team through thick and thin. Booers and moaners can do one.

They have started poorly and are picking up momentum now , the money was splashed at the end of the transfer window after the season had started.

Hey guys and gals. Foxes fan here to temporarily invade your North Stand Chat. Not here on a wind up or anything daft like that.

First and foremost, having read this thread throughout the game (unfortunately I couldn't make it due to recently dislocating my knee) it's clear that you lot are a decent and humble bunch. Top stuff for that.
Secondly, we've not been playing the best football in recent games but pulling in results. I think today from how it sounded on the ever blue tinted radio Leicester, it was a much improved performance. And so it needed to be against the top side in the Championship.

As many of you have already stated, it's only one game etc. My old man went to the game with my brother in my place, and having spoken to them, you looked like a side that could be a hard team to beat. Today you apparently looked as though you were at 6s and 7s a bit. But still caused problems for us and defended well.

Our biggest plus is that we kept a clean sheet having leaked 2 goals in every previous home game so far. A question or two for you guys, particularly those that made it to the game...Would you choose CMS over Beckford? How has CMS been for you in previous games? Today he missed a sitter, but I'm sure on another day he'll bag it no problem.

All in all, I don't think you have too much to worry about, you're my bet for a guaranteed play-off spot. I look forward to your replies, and my visit down south when we next meet.

Cheers, Notts_Fox
