Just posted a long old rant on ATC but today really has been a f***ing abortion.

The worst bit about it is the club were pre warned about all the point cock ups and yet nothing gets done.

What infuriates me even more is you cannot contact the club in anyway shape or form at times like this. Not without waiting on the phone for hours on end anyway.

I'm pissed off that the online system didn't work for me, but seems like that was a one-off. End of the day an hour's queuing and all sorted, including tickets for 2 potentially highly sought-after matches, can't moan too much.

Worked for me (after a bit of a wait) - not worried, as this is what "ramp up" events are for - testing the infrastructure. I`m sure the club will have learned loads, and when you consider what else is going on, it's frankly amazing that the club are delivering so much on so many different fronts. I guess those that are pi$$sed off would rather we were still at Withdean with the prospect of NO home friendlies, and no new signings.

In a word - no!

The club did everything as best they could given the very difficult circumstances.

Re the loyalty points error, these database errors happen all over the country, it is just that it happened today of all days. It would appear that as soon as the application error (re those with 1000 points being allowed tickets) the situation was dealt with quickly.

Re the queue on the phone and at the ticket office - why was that the club's fault? Yes the tickets went on sale today but it wasnt neccessary for ALL of us to try and get them on the first morning, most of us could have waited until tommorrow or Friday without any less chance of getting our tickets.

However the excitement of getting our hands on those tickets led ALL of us to go for them in one big hit. That is OUR fault and not theirs.

A big thankyou to the ticket office staff for working so hard with very little thanks; also thank you to those in the Queens Road queue this morning, a great spirit and I heard no moaning.

In summary, the club sold tickets for three seperate events to thousands of people, they took orders for travel vouchers, the dealt with parking voucher requests, they dealt with people who had queries - some related and some not. All in all the club deserve a well done for what they acheived in just one short day.

Whilst not excusing todays issues in reality with 18k season ticket holders the current setup and staffing will probably be adequate for selling the remaining league match tickets and most away fixtures. The problem comes with games like this friendly and home cup games that are not included in the ST. The club will need to think about how they cope with the exceptional demand sales in these rarer circumstances this season.

Clearly i wouldnt expect critisism from those who managed to log in to the ticketing website or who were fortunate to go into the club shop.

Likewise i wouldnt expect critisism from those on a 1000 points who managed to secure a ticket a week early

I eventually got the web site up and running but Mini was classed as an adult for both Spuds and Gillingham due to the U18 rule or something so rang the ticket office, took an hour to get through but got his tickets and also not charged a booking fee again.

So I suppose the question is did the SCC sell out today or not ?

Superb post. All the moaners should read this before posting.

Why did they need to make three games worth of tickets available on the same day. The club could of put the SSC final tickets on sale last week. Spurs this week and Gills next

There were some mistakes today, for sure, but from everything I saw they were data issues not application/infrastructure/being under-prepared issues.

I didn't want to say too much as I'm sure the club will say something officially but my understanding is that the '3500 point thing' didn't make any difference at all - today the ticketing engine was looking at prior products bought to determine eligibility to buy SSC and Spurs.

I also understand it was only a very small number of 1000 pointers who crept through before the club reacted and remedied the issue there.

The major issue of the day was thousands of people trying to buy tickets as soon as they possibly could when there was no need for them to do so.

What's the problem? I've just bought SSC, Spurs and Gillingham tickets on-line, with no hiccups.
Having now read the rant, I can see where you're coming from. Bozza makes some valid points, though.

I didn't queue at Queens Road - as it happens, because I went to Birmingham today and heard a nice little presentation about something called WORLDHOST - a new Customer Service Standard that has been developed to deliver top class customer service at the London Olympics, the Paralympics, the 2014 Ryder Cup and the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The WORLDHOST programme has been developed by the Government of British Columbia and incorporates everything that they learned at the Vancouver Winter Olympics. It looks bloody good.

Coming soon to a shop near us? I hope so.
