I know we've played Stoke a fair bit in the last ten years; but really? Fifth round of the FA Cup against a premier league side; or a run of the mill league game at Yeovil? I know the magic of the cup is dying out at the very top level, but thought it still meant something for teams like us. This thread seems to suggest otherwise

I agree, i've seen people posting on this thread that they wont be going, the league matters more etc, but these are people i have seen adopting the smug self satisfied stance of the "real" fan who follows his team through thick and thin, and criticising the soulless "premiershite" and their plastic fans, these people would be having a self righteous fest of epic proportions if they heard a man utd or chelsea fan saying it, its the 5th round of the cup ffs!

I've waited years to write this, but I'm with bushy.

It's one of those games where the relative size of the occasion is only going to dawn on some people on the day of the game or maybe the day before.

Then all those people whinging about it being "only Stoke" and "unimportant" will be wishing they hadn't written such bollocks on here, and some of them will choose to go anyway.

To be perfectly honest, and this is a reflection of the way football is so money orientated these days (yes i get the irony being a chelsea fan), i'd rather brighton got to wembley than chelsea.

Be good to bounce this thread should we win said game and see how many people still have the same opinion of the 6th round, which should we get there will basically be our cup final (win and we get a day out at Wembley).

I've just been down and purchased my Stoke tickets. We've sold just under 3,000 which considering they only went on sale to white members today is pretty impressive. Panic over I'd say. There will be around 4,300 Albion fans there.

Also Hartlepool is sold out. We're gonna need a bigger ground.

2 more here

For the first time in my life (I'm 21) we are in the 5th round. Absolutely no chance I'm missing this.
(New ground for me to tick off too )

Horses for courses.

This season in the league could mark a sea change in our fortunes that quite literally changes our future for the good for many years to come. For me every single league match now is like a cup final even if it's at Yeovil and I'm absolutely loving it. I want us to win the league more than anything else to the extent that right now nothing else matters.

I'm old enough to remember when we got to the cup final and indeed I went to both games at Wembley. At the time it was the most important thing in the universe and back then nothing else mattered. Taking the day off to go back to Wembley for the replay nearly cost me my job and after it was all over we were relegated and the rest is history.

I will be at Stoke and this year if we get to the next round and are just "one game from Wembley" maybe that will be our cup final and maybe I will get excited but I will still insist that the league matters more in the long term.

If we did get to Wembley being on the database as having gone to Stoke will surely count as a priority after the STH's and 1901ers have been sorted.

I'm not sure if you were asking tongue in cheek! But, 1901's don't kick in until next season.

It will probably be STH,Blue,White, then general sale.

Of course, this is making a huge assumption that it will happen!!!!

Albion fans being lectured by a Chelsea fan

Still not going though, glad it looks like it will sell out.
