Slade did buy good players though, Bennett, Crofts, Dicker to name a few, but if he was still in charge we wouldn't be as high I don't think.

i would not candles! He seems to work better with no money, rather than a decent budget, he proved this at Yeovil, Grimsby, and now to be fair at the oree

If this is true then him and Hearn are a match made in heaven cos Hearn NEVER spends any money.

Slade is a good manager, no doubt and in an earlier era may have got more time here. Poyet is potentially the best we've ever had. There lies the difference for me

Accept it could happen but I think he'll be here for at least one more season if we go up this year

Is this some sort of wind up?...I take it you actually watch Orient play ilikecandles?..To quote some pundits "Brighton are playing on a different level".....Still you gave me a chuckle when I read the thread title....Slade whipping of his cap and rubbing his head for a laugh at the training ground, might have been ok at the time for a while but we have moved on to a different level.

I don't think Slade would be able to deal with the stronger personalities brought in on high wages/fees paid, hence his inability to deal with the Dickinson and Cox drinking culture at Brighton durings his reign here.

Although admittadly he seems to be able to deal with Cox now, I think that is more Cox being cut down to par more than anything else.

Although he did make some great signings for us and looks like he's done shrewd business with Orient as well. He does well were expectations and budgets are low, i.e. his period at Yeovil.

Under Slade we would have been relegated last season and if still in charge now we would be 23rd in League 2.
