The Special One is .......Nathan Ellington?

What I know about him is that he's fat for an athlete (unforgivable IMHO), has an attitude problem, and used to be good several seasons ago. I don't think that's the Messiah I'm describing there. Better off looking elsewhere, many more experienced managers than Gus have failed to sort The Duke out.

We just need Barnes & Murray to get their act together and achieve some consistency. I'm convinced this is the sole reason for our dip in form [if that's what it is] recently. We're not taking the lead and if we do we don't seem to be able to consolidate it; as such our midfield and defenders are always trying to protect slender advantages. As soon as confidence upfront returns we'll be ok, and looking at Ellington, his stats and word of mouth I pray to God he's not 'the special one'; if he is, we could be in trouble.

Again, as previous posters have mentioned in the thread, if you're going to start rumours or claim to be "In the know", can you at least name names?

I appreciate he isn't an easy character but his scoring record is good and he would certainly be a better prospect than many for the goalscorer we need - that said if he is number two choice, then the special one must be very good indeed.

No. He is a striker, but its not him. I would love to say who it is, but just can't. If I did, for a start I'd get abuse for some of the children on here and laughed out of here (cause he is that special) as I did when I posted about the two ro three manager sackings and Coppell's acceptance of the managers job, all of which turned out to be true (even though Coppell later backed out). This is the first good info my snout has got since BLoom took over, so I aint risking him being found out, as although no doubt a few people on here know who it is, the club want to keep it quiet for now. And I personally don't think we have a prayer of signing him, and would say to people forget about the special one, but stanger things have happened.............

I would think that Nathan Ellington would be a boost and better than what we have signed recently but would not class him in the 'special player who will gaurantee us promotion ' as has been suggested on here. It was interesting to hear Gus say that dceisions must be made during the window about players that we have which would suggest that some are going.

I remember going Wigan away around 7 / 8 / 9 yrs ago maybe. Ellington and Roberts destroyed us and were CLASS - think it was in the 'Championship' aka Division 1 too... Also weren't they playing when they beat us 4-2 at home? 3-0 up after 10 mins or something?

By the sounds of you post though, he sounds like a bloody good player if you think we have that little chance of getting him. Interesting.

Yes. 4-0 up after 30 odd minutes. Kavanagh, Bullard, Roberts and Ellington raped and pillaged us. Yet to see such a performance again at Withdean.

Tell you what ... write the name down on a bit of paper put it in an envelope and when the truth is revealed, you can open the envelope and tell us whether you were right or not.
