No fannying about there are loads of threads to debate the tits off this.

You have to come down on one side. Life is a lot simpler when you are inflexible and convinced of your own righteousness and dont listen to anyone else.

Right or Wrong? Dont be a wuss.

WRONG

Depends, right if they wish to protest their cause in a lawful manner but wrong if they don't. However, their protests are now a waste of time as the legislation has been passed and not matter how many crocodile tears the Lib Dems and Labour cry you can bet that neither would revoke it if they were in power.

Wrong. They don't have to attend University. If they want to, then they can pay for it (not until years later in most cases).

So, we weren't right to protest about how a private company was being wound up all those years ago. I assume you accept the argument then that you don't have to go and support the Albion.

The bill has got through the commons but it still has to go through the Lords so there still may be changes made before it actually becomes law.

They have a right to protest.

But they don't have a right to tertiary education imo.

Tertiary institutions should be run like any other business and PAYG.

How much each course costs though should be based on what the potential earning power is of someone with that qualification.

So naturally an arts degree should cost less than a medical degree.

But as they act like feral animals, WRONG.

I think they're right to protest. I don't nedessarily agree with them, but if they give up without a whimper you can bet there are elements in the govt who will have them down as an easy target and line them up for even more "cost saving measures".

PS the arguments from both sides are rather trite.

Bit black and white this poll, innit?

It's not sitting on the fence, it's that neither answer is correct.

Not as easy as right or wrong though is it. Protest all you want, that is part of civilised and democratic society, but when it descends into violence then its wrong

People were saying that we were wrong back then! If they want expensive courses why should taxpayers, some on minimum wage fund them? They have got a bloody good deal, it's their choice after all.

Right.

This could be the thin end of the wedge. You could easily see Dave, Nick and Gideon saying in four years time that we should extend fees to sixth formers, secondary and then primary school kids.

If someone is successful at Uni then they do pay extra tax, it is called the higher rate.

The students are right to protest (peacefully).

Therefore they must be wrong to protest violently.

I think your poll is flawed.

how would you suggest i amend a silly poll that is obvious from the off its not serious, to one that gives better options to reflect the slightly more complex issues certainly not up for discussion on this joke poll as mentioned in the first sentence?
