Argus:

Lua Lua will be out until March after surgery revealed his injury is more serious than first revealed.

Lua Lua: I've had a plate inserted and they had to fix some of the bones. The doctor says its a serious injury, more than ten weeks. I will be out until March.

I will come back before the end of the season, and all being well it will be at Brighton.

That's bad news but if he is back with us for March that would be right for the run in (providing his pace is still good).

I'm convinced Kazenga is coming our way on a permanent deal but will we get short term cover for tonight onwards?

I am now almost certain he is the 'special' player.

"I will come back before the end of the season, and all being well it will be at Brighton."

Hopefully the 'all being well' means if his contract talks with us go according to plan. Get him signed up for 3-4 years. I would LOVE him & Bennett as our long-term wingers.

Kazenga is NOT 'the special player'. I don't understand why people keep suggesting it. Its ridiculous - it goes completely against what Gus actually SAID.

"hope to have a replacement for Lualua, and another one, by Thursday. If the other one happens it will be very special".

Weird.

If he's not the "special" player Gus was referring to (and like you Hans it seems fairly clear it wasn't) then by the sounds of what KLL has said we could well finish the season with a few "special" players. The new mystery guy, KLL back in March, and personally I think Bennett is pretty special and getting precious little praise for it.

Reading the posts on the thread about him signing I'd say he's getting lots of praise-rightly so. Gus has also said some really good things about him, yesterday especially.

I believe the actual quote was: " “We need to get one before Thursday for sure. If there was an extra one it would be because we got the main target, something very special.”

He mentioned nothing about it being a replacement for Lua Lua, Andy Naylor just interpretted his comment that way & wrote the article as though it was.

I am of a strong opinion that the 'one before Thursday' will be the 'replacement' for Lua Lua (short term loan probably) & the 'special' signing will be KLL himself.

Bad news. I really wouldn't expect him to make another appearance this season. If it is more complex then it probably is not worth rushing him back for one months action, only to cause further problems for the rest of his career. He's a youngster so let him recover properly without any pressure to return and let him start again Pre-Season.

Do you want me to be wrong? I am certainly not wrong about the quote from Gus... in fact, you were :glare:

There's only one way to sort this out:

When he injured his hamstring last season it was said he would miss the rest of the campaign. He was then back playing in three weeks - I will expect him back by early December.

Naylor has ruled him out as the 'special' player, although I don't think he really got the point being made. Could be good news as this means we may well get a 'special' player AND Lua Lua... I still think it's him though.

I don't think you quite understand the egomaniacal world of HKFC. He is NEVER, EVER wrong about anything and don't you dare forget it! EVER!

Broken ankles are a bugger to get fixed. Ask Charle Oatway. March might be over optimistic. It can even be a career-ending injury.
