That anyone could possibly know.

Has anyone irrefutably proved that God doesn't exist?

atheism is the rejection of gods or deities existing. nothing more. if one does not belief in somthing, how can one be deluded?

as for proof, you cannot logically prove something does not exist, so the atheist does not make that case (hence the adverb in "there's probably no god" posters). the burden of proof is on the believers. there is no tangible proof and a massive philisophical/logic problems in most forms of belief (ie existance of evil with a benevolent, omnipotent god). i'd say philisophically "God" in the form provided in the Abrahamic traditions has been well refuted.

There is a level of Bullshit to nearly everything, pick the pile that smells the best to you and live with it.

Well said, that man. Perfect response.

Incidentally (different subject) just had breakfast at the hotel where I'm staying in Houston. Incredibly fat guy at the next table with incredibly fat wife both stuffing themselves with everything they can lay their hands on at the buffet. Pigs! And of course their child was well on the way to being incredibly fat. There should be a law preventing incredibly fat people having kids.

I may have missed a meeting of course, but I have only seen theories and suposition from academics.

Given the fact that nobody's met him it's rather likely he doesn't.

Easy. If he thinks he knows it doesn't exist.

Based on the simple fact that as there's no tangible evidence of the existence of any higher authority I think it stands to reason that 'God' is about as believable as Apollo, Zeus or Thor.

I mean, how do you 'know' there's a 'God' ? What proof have you got apart from rhetoric, rumour and myth ?

Whilst not actually encouraging it American clinicians see fat people as repeat business as do undertakers and the people who make their trusses.

To a point I do not disagree, however unshakable atheist views are just that, and I consider those who are evangelical about atheism to be just as distasteful and bigotted as any consumed religous zealot.

Plenty of people will end up having experiences that change their outlooks on life whether that means they change their political views or support a different football team.

CS Lewis, Evelyn Waugh, Fay Weldon were all committed atheists who converted to christianity just as there have been christians going the other way.

Blessed are those who do it quietly.

He doesn't have to though does he ? He accepts that as there's no proof ect then it's a safe bet that there no God.

Come to that, how do you know there is ? Now this is an answer that should be worth hearing.

Well, I don't know there's a god. I have no proof either way.

I think you've mistaken me for someone who thinks they know if there's a god. Search me. Why would I know?

Actually they do, and not just to sustain their income. Give the far higher death rate they expect a number of the progeny not to reach adulthood. They also need somebody to look after them in their old age. I can guarantee that these people are not Catholics. (Catholics are the only sect that advocates no birth control and in fact a lot of that is based in what has already been said.

There are enough myths about religion without people like you thinking that what suits you suits the rest of the World.

I'm afraid your post is full of the excuses that are bandied about by those who don't realise the seriousness of the population explosion continuing on our planet. I don't understand what you're getting at in your final paragraph. What part of this world does famine, drought, misery and war suit? These are the inevitable consequences of excessive breeding.

One reason I'm totally opposed to foreign aid and charities that aid the poor overseas. Both only encourage them to breed more.

Really? I think you will find that many of them show women how to use contraception properly, but in the space between your ears that is filled with the bile of the Daily Express no doubt the facts get squeezed out by the spite.
