The club will not be allowing Vuvuzelas at Withdean this season. The club's management staff has consulted with a number of supporters on the issue to gauge overall opinion, while many others have also expressed their feelings on the matter, including your good self. The overwhelming majority feel it would be a negative impact on both atmosphere and enjoyment of the match at Withdean, therefore the club has decided not to permit them at the stadium this season.

f***ing wankers, this has really pissed me off, I really hoped that the club would not meddle in this, sad to say, our game is fast going down the nanny state route, what next, no singing at games, oh

This must be blanket across all football league clubs by now. Are any clubs actually allowing them?

Personally I think it would be a breath of fresh air and would die out pretty quickly in any case.

I think they sound f***ing horrible and it's an excellent decision. Apologies if that's not the 'in' view on NSC, but it is mine.

Good decision IMO.

They were bad enough on the telly during the World Cup, let alone 'live'. I can't understand why people would want to watch a game surrounded by what sounds like a swarm of bees for 90 minutes.

I can understand the desire to create noise and an atmosphere, but what's wrong with singing as a means for doing this?

I believe that Blackpool are considering ENCOURAGING fans to brink Vuvuzelas. They figure that if every other Premier League club have banned them, Vuvuzelas may provide a bit of home advantage.

It is all well and good people saying the club are ruining their fun. However an english football atmosphere involves supporters singing and chanting, not blowing stupid horns every thirty seconds. We learnt from the World Cup that Vuvuzelas drown out crowd noise therefore drowning out any atmosphere.

Vuvuzelas allow a minority to have fun while the rest of us get tinnitus. Good decision by the club.

What has this got to with the nanny state? I would imagine more people would prefer not to have Vuvuzelas than otherwise.

Great so a few people that go on the coach that have the ear of the club said no, so the rest of us miss out on annoying John Catt for 9 months.

but i thought all the 'lickers' were now outside the inner sanctum?

In any case I think it's a poor decision. Not sure it would have had much of a take up in any case.

I think it sounded like a swarm of bees because maybe 40 thousand people in a 80thousand crowd were blowing them.

At Withdean, there probably wont be more than 100 if we are honest about it

Maybe EVERYONE should get one for the last game at Withdean and give Mr Catt a proper send off

I see Tottenham have banned the vuvuzela from white hart lane. They are replacing it with the jewjewzela which is very similar but has had the tip chopped off.

Have you heard them 'live' at a match though?

I was out at the WC and they were fine, no problem at all. It appears that the Costa Love Bus is dictating the views of the fans in the eyes of the club.

Next it will be no swearing, no singing, no standing, and we can all become anodyne superfans who quietly clap a throw in and cause no problems for the club (unless your name is Terry Connor of course).

Spot on.
I cannot stand the things, i had to help out at my old schools Sports day at Withdean a couple of weeks back and there was one about 10 yards away from me. It was incredibly annoying, and the fact that most people cannot even use them properly makes it even worse, in the end we managed to stop the kid from blowing it.
It all reminds me a bit of MK dons last game with those stupid clappers, as if it was some kind of intimidating atmosphere. Sing for christs sake, dont rely on some stupid bloody horn, please!
