What important (or maybe not so important in your eyes) moments in life have you skipped in order to go to the Albion?
I've skived off a family wedding
To be fair, the game was a relegation six pointer, I think, though I must confess I didn't mention that once I sidled furtively into the reception and got stuck into the canapes.
I also missed a vitally important work do once (not in my current job, oh great and wise boss), having already asked unsuccessfully for the day off in advance, therefore had to pull a sickie in order to attend the last game of one particular season. Not sure how I got away with that one, especially as I was cheerfully back at work the next day, having seen us save ourselves by the skin of our teeth.
Anyone got any real tales of shame on this front? Missed the birth of your first child? Grandparent's funeral? Exams? The final of X Factor?
