A play-off spot does seem a long shot for them still, but if they win 90% of their games, they've still got a chance.
I suspect the current owner didn't swoop before administration for the same reason most other prospective buyers don't, because they know they can get the club for a song when in administration.
They probably also thought they could get out of the 15-point deduction, which of course they couldn't, and never would. Thankfully.

I'll be honest thought at the start of the season you lot had a good chance!; depends on what magic Poyet can pull out in the summer - If I was you lot would hope for PO so there's not to much pressure on Gus; Southampton on the other end...totally agree they look a class act in League 1...when was the last time Southampton, Portsmouth & Brighton we're in the same division?
Because the money he wont earn by being in the Championship is much less than the money he will have saved buying the club at a hugely knocked down price?

We have them in 2 weeks at st. mary am now a wee bit worried about it, should be a cracking night though.
