...I haven't been back to Sussex for years!

The Swan was always full of pathalogical jockeys from Harwoods yard...who wanted to pick a fight with anyone, shocking thing was that they usually won!

another vote for the duck in haywards heath . it is now closed.

how about the "i go inn" in kemp town . you know those western films where someone comes flying out of the window? walked past there one evening and this woman came flying out of the door . then followed by another woman who had a huge scrap in the street. great entertainment. everyone in the rock opposite (v nice pub) loved it

Were you around when an old boss of mine brought The swan and renamed it The Parrot at swan corner? The locals went mad:tantrum:

About four years ago, I went to a pub opposite Chichester station which was dreadful. No decent beer, filthy tables and full of neanderthals.

I was still going back there then, remember the pub being called something outrageously stupid and completely out of keeping with the area...thanks for jogging the memory...Pulborough was never top of my list of places to visit at the best of times, best thing to come out of there was the train or the A29.

Think it might have closed now, but the Duck in Haywards Heath was always pretty damn awful.

It's been torn down in the last couple of weeks:thumbsup:

They didn't like outsiders did they? as I found out to my cost a couple of times.

The Bat and Ball, yet unbelievably it was the only pub in the area that asked my 24 year old son for i.d.

Was it The Globe?

Can't remember its name - it was a shocker.

I've not been in it, but the pub on London Rd, Brighton, a few doors away from Richer Sounds always seems to have the street's more, er, colourful characters sitting outside it.
