Way out West
.....what was that all about? Players doing their normal warm-down routine, and then something kicks off on the far side of the pitch? Someone near me reckoned they were slagging off our subs and Craig Davies responded? Couldn't see, as too far away. Stewards legged it over there pronto to sort it out. Rather bizarre.

I really hope action can be taken over this (and not against Davies!) Outrageous behaviour if true. Make Helen Chamberlain deal with them.

That's it then, we all know how the FA works. Our team get abused and our club will get fined for not controlling our players.

I thought I could hear a load of abuse being directed towards Dickinson whilst I was listening on the Radio Sussex.

What a bunch of friggin' pig-ignorant, inbred tossers. :tosser:

Disgusting if true, it's the 21st century and still some morons feel the need to do stuff like that.

it was pretty unpleasant. During the match Hoyte was being targetted and I think the guy who was given the old heave-ho by the stewards was giving it some pretty nasty and racist abuse so the stewards knew what was happening. Missed the bit post-match but on my way home my grandson said he had heard some gorilla noises being made. Not nice

edit: Torquay forum suggests our subs "goaded" their fans over being beaten but does seem to accept that something untoward was said by one or more of their presumably at Davies)

Torquay Respond

I see that someone purporting to represent Torquay United has now posted on the Argus page denying that racist abuse took place and issuing a thinly veiled threat to the Argus for reporting it.

Responding on a comments section and not being able to spell makes it very believable.

This is Official TUFC and would like to say that there was NO racial incident with Torquay fans.

Brighton players confronted Torquay fans after the match from TUFC fans reacted angrily to Hoytes two-footed stamp on Torquay right-back Adam Smith.

This 'official' statement already strikes me as absolute bollocks, as it was Dickinson who supposedly made a 'two-footed stamp' on their lad, but anyone who thinks they can describe it as that is totally deluded. Their lad went out of his way to bring Dickinson down, who had nowhere else to land other than on their man underneath him. Their player was rightly booked for the foul, despite being injured in the aftermath. This wound up the Torquay supporters who then continued to boo Dickinson.

Gavin Hoyte and Liam Dickingson showed aggression and violence towards Torquay fans and stewards who had to restrain him and the FA are looking into Brighton players hehaviou, thier will be punishments for those players and they are lucky police arent involved as they showed criminal behaviour.

Just looking at the spelling of Dickinson without even bothering to mention the pathetic attempt at spelling 'behaviour' once again makes me think that this statement is not official. I was also one of the few people that saw the incident after the game, and I can confirm Hoyte and Dickinson were nowhere near it! It was Bennett and Davies that were racially abused after the match, but it would appear the 'officials' at Torquay have not even bothered to look into the incident at all. I certainly don't think any of our players, who had every right to react angrily to racism, will be fined for their behaviour.

Stadium Manager was available for comment if you had spoken to him. He would answer any queries and I suggest you (The Argos) remove this story or futher action will be taken to remove this.

I hope the 'Argos' completely ignore this comment and don't give into this poor attempt at a wind up, and aren't intimidated by it and continue to support the Albion players.

TUFC

f*** off.

All in all, I am not saying their was or wasn't any racism as I certainly didn't hear it being at the other end of the ground. However, I feel that statement was an extremely inaccurate assessment of the events that occured today regarding the persons involved.

Rant over.:tantrum:

No official word on this anywhere as far as I can see, but it should be investigated properly and action taken by the FA if there was racist abuse during or after the game.

In a pile of football shirts
The only FACT here is that the FA will do nothing about it.
