Thanks Greens :(
Not hi-jacking the thread (much!), but has anybody seen Biffy Clyro live? I've heard them a few times on the radio and bought a ticket for their upcoming show at The Dome and wondered what they're like live?

Cheers

De La Soul. Everytime me and my mate see them we get there halfway through the set and feel so pissed off we turn it into an allnighter. These gigs have resulted in me failing my degree by missing my final exam, him losing his job and me getting chucked out of my former flat down Elm Grove.

Amanda Palmer at Union Chapel a few years ago - I was literally sitting under the piano she played the gig from. And at C2 last year when one of the band waded into the audience and snogged me. Wanted to die.

Arctic Monkeys at Komedia.

Q-Tip at Shoreditch Karate Club a few months ago.

Crystal Castles at the C2 about a year ago.

Maximo Park at the opening night of Digital.

- Original Two Tone tour at the Top Rank 1979 - Specials/Madness/Selecter
- Tom Robinson Band in 1977, just after they had signed to EMI
- Slade/Thin Lizzy/Suzi Quatro - Top Rank
- Kid Creole and The Coconuts - Brighton Centre
- Morrissey - Fairfield Halls (yes, I know, but it is close) 1995

And yes, the Aladdin Sane Bowie gig in '73 was good, as were the Who at Wembley in '75 as nominated by others.

I'm lucky to have seen loads.

The Who in 1975 at Hammersmith Odeon
Lynyrd Skynyrd at Knebworth
Dr Feelgood at Portsmouth Guildhall
Rory Gallagher at The Dome

So, you won tix in that lottery too eh?
Mine was in the balcony, and the laser effects were brillyernt.

Rory was always  at The Dome. Have to laugh remebering the old dodderers that used to try and 'usher' us from running down the front and resting our chins on the stage. And Rory used to sweat profusely, dripping from his hair all over the stage.

Bowie got a ban and a bill for rocking the Dome that evening. Several seats got torn from their bolts, as people were standing and dancing on the back of them. Only 8 months or so earlier he was there second-bill to The Groundhogs, and almost got booed off! Odd billing dichotomy, I thought.
Amazing what a couple of hits and a zig-zag of make-up on the cheek will do for an artist!
People were also almost smashing down the side doors at the Dome afterwards, when Bowie appeared behind the glass bathed in pink light and wearing an Abba-esque satin toga, the great poof.

Who at Wembley was the first time I can recall Townshend's numbered Les Paul guitars. I'm not too sure why he did that, except maybe he was visually stating that these instruments were not special - but just tools.

The Jam - The Dome - The Apocalypse Tour - 21st. November 1978

Weller was only 4 years older than me - Class

I'm sure he still is only 4 years older than you?

My best was Love at the Dome, in 2003-ish? With a brass section which was tight as a ducks botty - fantastic music....

Also strangely enough Depeche Mode at the Sydney Entertainment Centre (aka the concrete toilet) - amazing gig that had me with their albums on repeat for weeks...

Shamen and Utah Saints (same bill) The Event 1992

My mate saw U2 playing a gig to less than 100 people in the University nightclub in Grand Parade before they became famous. There is no way anyone can beat that!

Yup.

We were in the stalls. Moon came out into the audience dressed as a Security Guard - had to run for it when people sussed who he was! Absolutely amazing gig

The Rory Gallager gig must have been in '76 or '77. Also superb
