This is a good idea, as im confident that even though, yes I post alot 99% of it is not drivel and normally I'm having reasoned discussions with people.
But can I ask, There is a certain user who moans about the fact I post on most threads, and then he has the audacity to go and create multiple threads aimed at me, insults me wherever I post and generally finds it funny to call others things if you dont agree with him, I tried to sort this out with him via PM but just ignores my messages.

Is this acceptable because I'm sure many others have noticed the way certain people insult you(his favoured word is 'cu*t'), which I can take but I can't take that from someone who accuses ME of posting crap...:glare:

And Also, Is it against the rules to post my views on most threads, because thats what people dont seem to like, is it against a rule or is this another unwritten one?

every post i read has your comments in it....what are you on like 32 f***ing posts a day...Chiiiiiiiiillll out

I'm not interested in reasoning with you anyway because as far as I know that isn't against the rules, I would like a mods answer to all my points.

I think you have under estimated the per centage of drivel you post, mines around the 72% ive been reliably told (by the missus)...and i think shes being nice.

I dont think you should take this threads message personaly

would it not be better bozza to just give those that contiune to post drival/shite, harass and insult other members a 3 strike and your out warning ???

Good point and another one I've given some thought to. There are, it seems, serial offenders who pick up 7 day bans every month or so. Then they come back and revert to type sooner or later and the cycle continues.

vBulletin does have an infraction system which should help here. When a user is 'naughty' they are given an infraction. Each infraction comes with a number of points. The points tot up and when you reach a certain number of points a ban automatically comes into play. You're probably seeing the similarity with driving offences.

Different infractions carry different penalties and as such will lead to differing lengths of ban, some even being permanent.

Will this appear as a viewable table, i.e. like the one at the back of the Seagulls programme showing red and yellow cards.

What about the posters who post seriously but also like to inject humour with a shite/pointless post as well ?

To put all this into context, please see the below which I posted elsewhere...

NSC is a messageboard. To work, it needs, errrm, messages. Messages need to be posted by users. By and large we let users post whatever messages they like. And we largely let those same users self-police - report the bad stuff and give the mods a chance to react. However if a moderator sees something they believe is untoward, they will be more proactive about it.

Nomatter what people think, we don't like removing posts and we don't like banning users. A messageboard with few users and few messages being posted is not much fun. You know the sort of places I'm talking about.

Life referees - sometimes we get it wrong but we're only trying to do the right thing which is, simply, to help NSC keep ticking along. To keep ticking along because, often, it's all jolly good fun. And, very occasionally, NSC users also spark a tremendous idea that does fantastic good for the Albion or something even bigger.

There are far more important things in life than this sodding messageboard so if you do feel you've been hard done by, please take a deep breath and try to take it in good grace with no malice intended. And enjoy some freedom from here.

It will work the same as it's always worked.

This is a fairly liberal site where the boundaries usually take a lot of crossing.

The difference is that a new posting restriction MAY come in if it is felt that the 'childish drivel' meter reading starts to go too high!

It's not an exact science and we'll see how it goes.

But be warned!!

You know this makes sense Bozza, so don't be a tosser yourself about it, and sort that out like I say. Alright?

Actually it doesn't make sense. In fact I'd go so far as to say it was borderline drivel...as you didn't even bother to read what you were responding to

The problem is bozza, now the football is over for a bit people are bored and start threads on all sorts of subjects..and then you get sarcastic replies and then the person who posted that thread calls one of em a . c... or tosser or whatever, then it becomes a free for all... ive posted a pointless thread myself which ended up on the trash board, but was only doing it for a laugh.. and dont forget you have those that are not working etc that get bored and so will post on nearly every thread going...when i joined towards the end of the season the treads were nearly all regarding football... as someone said in earlier post, maybe you could have one board/forum for any old subject, and one purely for football.. just a thought ??
