Abort, retry, fail

Raid your spices cabinet and if you have some cloves, then chew on one of them.

They look like this (albeit a bit smaller)

The posh bit
alternate paracetamol with ibuprofen 2 hourly -as long as you have no allergy. but do not exceed doseages.
when one is wearing off the other is taking effect.
some people find cold water helps (some times makes it worse) others warm water (sometimes makes it worse) find what is best for you.
Do not hold painkiller against tooth/gum- this burns the gingivae and tastes like crap.

then get to a dentist asap. PM me if finding this difficult, or want more advice

(codeine not too good for tooth ache)

Cheers for the advice. I've just taken 2, 200mg caplets [Ibrofuren]. Gotta do the trick, surely?

I'm currently being treated for problems with 2 teeth and have just got through more or less a week of incredible pain that even prescription painkillers couldn't sort. I'm now on 3 different antibiotics and after a 75 minute session with the dentist quite literally digging out the infection, I'm now pain free.

I've got to have root canal treatment on both teeth and one of the crowns has to be replaced. Total bill will be over £1300 thankfully £1000 of which is covered by medical insurance provided by my employers.

Paracetamol and Ibuprofen for pain relief. If they don't work, see your GP for prescription painkillers.

I'd also recommend a wheat bag, like an oblong beanie bag you shove in the microwave and wrap that around your face ... that worked when the painkillers didn't.

Most important thing is to get to a dentist asap.

Good luck.

I have a pair of pilers you can borrow to save on the dentist bill.

I hope your tooth ache is a bit better this morning PD, I've been in pain for a couple of weeks with tooth ache, Dentist reckons I've got an infection, so gave me a load of anti-biotics. Four days later, no change, so he doubled the dosage; this still hasn't worked and I'm in feck loads of pain. It seems like dentists don't actually like to pull teeth out anymore. I'll be banging on the door of the surgery on Tuesday morning to insist it comes out....

I did find some Diclofenac last night, doubled up on the dosage, eased it a little!
