Who would you choose if it was between these to guys. My first reaction was Ince as I 'd not heard of Gannon. Now that I have read a little about this Gannon chappy ( Uefa badges etc etc ) I think I'd go with him.

Who would you have ?

I would be fairly happy with either choice although Ince is obviously a bigger name and may help raise our profile a little.

At the same time though I don't think he seems that nice a guy, and with his Man United connections I'm not a massive fan of his.

Gannon on the other hand seems quite a passionate manager who is obviously pretty talented

Paul Ince. He will keep us up, comfortably, then he will leave in a year's time with us ten points clear at the top of L1. Right now, I think most of us would take that scenario.

I have no idea. Reading 'a little bit about him' hardly qualifies as a reason to choose. They have both done decent jobs with lower league clubs and Ince's brief term at Blackburn shouldn't be held against him - he was taking a big step up.

Do any of us really know enough about any candidate to make a credible choice?

I wouldn't want Holloway or Wise but that's based purely on what I perceive as their personalities and not all on the very little I know about their coaching/managemnent abilities.

My gut instinct is I'd have Gannon over Ince but both of them worry me slightly, for different reasons.

Gannon's done pretty much all most of his playing and managing at Stockport, so hasn't achieved anything elsewhere and also hasn't managed in the Championship. That said, what he has achieved so far is excellent.

It's not so hard to get a side out of League 2 if your have the resources, and MK Dons have the resources, so I'm not overly impressed with Ince's achievments.

Ince also has unfinished business in the Prem, so whilst I'm realistic to know if we do well we could lose our manager I think we're more likely to get the loyalty from Gannon. We really could do with some stability because there's been too much chopping and changing.

I dont think anyone wouldnt!
I hadnt heard much about gannon, but also think he would be a good manager for us. I also think gannon is more in our range, ince like people say would probably have high wages, and when hearing adams had been sacked i didnt even think about him as didnt think we would have a chance.
Both would be good, but Gannon for me.

Either of those two would be SHREWD appointments, although the correct answer is actually "Gary Waddock".

Gannon for me but Ince will certainly do if we get him.

Why does nobody seem so keen on Aidy Boothroyd?

I'd definitely like to hear his name being mentioned with Ince and Gannon

Why on earth do you say that?
Ince would be OK, but he's managed at the top level and I'd worry about his motivation for doing the job here. Gannon would also probably do a decent job but we'd end up paying over the odds for him I suspect.

Waddock is hungry, he might think he's taken Aldershot almost as far as possible, and is an upwardly mobile, proven manager. I like the idea of a hungry non-league manager on an upward curve.

compared to the shortlist we've seen so far I think they are the best 2 but as someone mentioned earlier Ince acheivements with MK Dons were with the biggest budget in that division. Granted he did well for half a season with Macclesfield ( he played in midfield that year which may of helped).

Gannon looks a solid appointment, slightly unproven .

Think it is unlikely we will tempt either but hope to be proved wrong

We do not want a non-league manager... or a player who has little or no management experience... too much of a gamble, IMHO...
