My Manure supporting mate is coming to the game on Saturday as I've got a spare ticket but wants to watch the Man U game on TV beforehand as its a lunchtime KO.

I haven't been in the Sportsman this season but I assume that they probably still don't have sky games on the tele?

Alternatively theres the Brewery Tap - I assume they do still show live football but last time I went in there was no food. Anyone know if thats changed?

If not, then a liquid lunch it is :D:drink::drink::drink:

Don't think they have sky sports, best bet near the ground is probably the Station!

The Brewery Tap has invested heavily in SKY over the Summer. They got all the games going. Food's near non-existent, theydo a matchday special which, uh, isn't, but the Crown & Anchor a hundred yards along thr road does brilliant food. So... IMHO go to the C&A for the food then go to the Tap for all your non-food needs

The cheesy chips seem quite popular.

You mean they now pay the exact same satellite/commercial cable fees as everyone else? That isn't really "investing" now is it :jester:

Also invested in 3 (I think) flat screen tellys on which to show it.

The 'Tap' and 'Crown and Anchor' both now have LCD sky sports now, the C&A will do you food and theres a new Deli between them both thats very nice

so no need to go to the Station

:OK?:

Well the landlord told me they are now shelling out eight hundred quid a month that they weren't before. I'd call that a fairly hefty investment for a run-of-the-mill boozer. Wouldn't you?

Every pub of the same size pays the same amount, its in pricing bands. Its obscene, which is why every pub that can here gets commercial cable (no SS Extra, less other channels but way way cheaper) but I've no idea if that concept even exists in the UK.
