I was wondering when something like this would happen. Putin is going to have a hard time protecting kaliningrad.
He sure is……. Whilst keeping an eye on the rest of Russia….. and Israel ..….whilst protecting Crimea……whilst attacking Ukraine ….. propping up the Russian economy……and coseying up to his few remaining allies. All with a big target on his back!!

If only Trump could see sense.

Interesting one - I hadn't anticipated anything in Kaliningrad, but I guess some operatives have geared up for hybrid operations there 👍
Neither did I.

But it highlights how vulnerable Kaliningrad is to hybrid operations, being mostly surrounded by Nato members Poland and Lithuania, both of whom would presumably be only too willing to help operatives giving Russia a taste of its own medicine.

So Russia has basically taken civilian hostages to use as bargaining chips, the scum

Rosenberg reporting on Russian newspapers today quotes one as saying “we will have to deal with Europe as they won’t leave us in peace”. Others focus on the potential benefits to Russia of the Israel/Iran war: a distraction for the US and likely increase in the price of Russian oil, particularly if Iran blocks the straits of Hormuz.

Elsewhere I read that Russia seems to think they are in a position to criticise Israel for “unprovoked strikes on a sovereign state and member of the UN”. Couldn’t make it up 🤦‍♂️

And Trump helpfully says that it was a mistake to kick Russia out of the G8 and had they still been in it there wouldn’t have been a war.
