Before I get shot down, don't get me wrong yes I'm over the moon we won last night

Yes it was great to see us beat Liverpool last night and has now put us in a great position to maybe get into Europe through the back door. But did we see the real Champions? Always felt they had another gear especially in the 1st half and weren't really that concerned on the outcome. I feel Tottenham may go the same way as they have nothing to play for either.
If Liverpool needed to a result, would they of fielded the same side?...probably not and we would of seen a stronger line up
I think we have a way to go yet before we can start competing with these type of teams on a regular basis. But we have a damn good base to start next season with

Yes, i would love to get into Europe, but we should of had this wrapped up and qualified on our merits rather than relying on others. The games that spring to mind are Leicester, wolves. Southampton, Ipswich and of course the huge GD swing we suffered at Forest

But it is what it is........we move on

Monday's win saw Brighton complete a remarkable home record against the Premier League's 'big six' in the league this season.

Now only are the Seagulls unbeaten against them at the Amex Stadium, but they have dropped just two points from their six league games at home to the 'big six':

  • 24 Aug - Brighton 2-1 Man Utd
  • 6 Oct - Brighton 3-2 Tottenham
  • 9 Nov - Brighton 2-1 Man City
  • 4 Jan - Brighton 1-1 Arsenal
  • 8 Feb - Brighton 3-0 Chelsea
  • 19 May - Brighton 3-2 Liverpool

You always rely on other results, that is what a league table is.

Looked like a pretty regular Liverpool side to me apart from no VVD or TAA but I don't really watch a lot of their matches.
Er... and Ali Mac.

Anyway, even if we don't make it to the UEFA Conference, let's be glass full up to the brim. The squad has gained vital experience this season and there is much to be optimistic about for the next. If we're not playing in Europe next season, then we've a great chance of sneaking up on the rails of all that lot slogging on the Thursday/Sunday treadmill.

You can only beat what’s put in front of you.

OK Liverpool didn’t have that cutting edge but at 0-1 and 1-2 we could’ve caved in. Instead we made life very difficult for them for the entire 2nd half, with imaginative substitutions and hungry substitutes.

It’s not the most glass half full post I’ve seen…

Of course it wasn’t the best Liverpool have to offer. It also wasn’t ours. Good game, decent result. Still puts us in with an a shout. We didn’t capitualte which we could very easily done.

We've had three, yes three players reach double figures in goals this season....the glass is quite half full, but it could become empty depends how Sunday pans out!

We've competed with a full strength Liverpool regularly for years now.

Nearly every game we play against them is a tight affair that could go either way and we've come out on top several times. Think I saw a post on here where the results stand at W4 D4 L4 in the last 12 games.

We absolutely battered them for the first 45 mins at Anfield earlier in the season before they came back in the second half.

The scoreline could have been very different in either direction but for some stellar goalkeeping from Bart and Alison and, certainly on our part, some excellent defending (2nd Liverpool goal aside).

It was a very good game of football between two very good sides.

Brighton make Europe you’ll go deep and if the chips don’t fall this weekend then without that distraction I’m saying now top six next season.
Next season does not exist apart from the top 6/7. A grand old club like Forest can expect the vultures (gobshites on social media #Fab#Karvei) to start picking over your bones immediately; see ya MGW, Murillo, Sels. Brentford will be metaphorically neutered and Mitoma, Baleba etc will go to BIGGER clubs. Palace - they might as well apply to the National League 😂😂. God only knows the Euphoria that’ll greet a United win.
