God this sort of comment depresses me. Imagine being Bloom and reading that after putting 100s of millions into the club, getting the team to the PL, getting them into Europe, establishing the club in the top 10 teams in the country and continuing to invest millions into ground improvements. It's so damned ungrateful - I'd be tempted to recoup my money, sell to a dodgy investment firm and say, 'Go on then - YOU run the club, let's see how you find a model that keeps the club moving forward sustainably whilst achieving the success we have'.
:lolol: Seriously? I can’t imagine a world where TB is throwing things around the office because of a post on NSC.

Nonsense.

If we want to maintain a big squad and keep hold of some very decent players with enormous potential (rather than loaning them out) who might get restless with so few minutes available in domestic competitions (Yalcouyé, Tzimas, Watson, Gomez, Gruda etc), the Conference League is absolutely perfect for giving them more game time.

Playing teams you've never heard of through the season with really interesting European destinations for fans whilst performing in a competition where we would be one of the favourites to lift our first major trophy would be awesome.

You've not thought this through properly have you!
If youngsters are getting restless like Enciso and Ferguson appeared to then that’s down to weak management

That's a very simplistic statement.

I would imagine ALL players who aren't playing the majority of matches are getting restless to a certain extent. Some, a lot more than others.

Your examples are of two players who have had extraordinary performances in the Premier League, are regulars for their national teams and have had numerous transfer gossip aimed at them speculating on £50m+ transfers. In comparison to your Marcus Rashfords of this world, they've been as quiet as mice. Ferguson has lost all form for whatever reason and was rightly shipped out on loan to find some, I thought giving him the 1st half of the season to claim a place in the team was the right thing to do bearing in mind the player he used to be for us. As for Enciso (a Premier League goal of the season winner), I suspect he wanted a guarantee of minimum game time which is a very fair request bearing in mind how good he is. Hürzeler obviously prefers players like Mitoma, March, Minteh, Pedro and Georginio in the attacking positions that Enciso competes for. A loan was the best thing for him because he clearly thinks that he should start every game, his MotM performance against Brentford recently along with his overall level at Ipswich will hopefully convince the club that he is the second best left winger we have and deserves to be considered first choice if Mitoma gets his dream of Champions League football next season. We'll see on that but European Football will certainly help our argument that he should sign a contract extension here.

The bottom line is that if you want a larger squad (25+) full of either proven or potential top level talent, it's extremely difficult to give every player enough minutes to keep them satisfied. The notion of weak management being the cause is a little bizarre. Weak management would be telling the players that you aim to give them all equal minutes as much as possible to the detriment of the team or your football philosophies.

For every Enciso or Ferguson, there is going to be an Ayari, Baleba or Minteh who are very happy with their career trajectory.

Have we worked this out yet ? or will it be down to Graham Potter to defeat Forest today and make it irrelevant anyway.

*Hears dark laugh, with accompanying teeth whistle, as Ferguson fires a victorious two goal comeback in the last five minutes*

It is what it is.

Hopefully this thread will still be going when Chelsea play in the conference league final - my fear is it could end about 4pm today
I wonder that finishing everything at 4pm today could be what my parents used to call a 'happy release'

Players of course maybe unhappy with minutes yet to go public is undermining the manager because they think there will be no consequence.
Do you see Foden/Grealish posting Pep is ruining my career for example?
Would the youngsters under Fergie ever complained in public? not a chance.

Foden was possibly the most useless player on the pitch yesterday and he wasn’t on for that long either

Worthing
Thankfully I don't encounter too much of it around Albion supporting friends and colleagues. Seems to be an NSC and Facebook thing.

Some people are radiators, and some people are drains.
It’s interesting because I do, not about the model per se, but elements of, in terms of an argument for a combination of not only promising youngsters but a more PL ready player.

At this moment, it is only heightened because of the City result yesterday….

The goalscorer yesterday could have been an ideal signing, I think Andy Naylor in The Athletic had identified him as a good option, obviously we’ll never know if we enquired, but would have improved us.

Anyway, can’t change anything, best to look forward…..
