Yep l was there at Wemberlee, wathing first the Vase final, AFC Whyteleafe v. Whitstable Town, the latter winning a very tight contest after extra time, after Leafe had scored first. A good game of football actually.

Then the main event, the Trophy final where the Shots basically overpowered a Spennymoor side to win at a canter after a goalless first half.

My first trip to the "new" Wembley actually, and can't say l was overly impressed, big (obviously), but missed my nice comfy padded seat at the Amex, the Wembley ones are hard plastic, and numb the bum after watching two games back to back. A bit of a hike from central London by public transport too.
I went to watch Whyteleafe, thought Whitstable deserved the win, they played better as a team.
Great day out.

Right just about come down . FA Trophy Final
Aldershot 3 Spennymoor 0 att 38600
Admission £30 Beer £7.25 inside ground .
49 years of following Aldershot it finally happened a day in the sun and boy did it shine . First half our dull passing game on wonderful Wembley pitch ground Spenny down but bored us .
2nd half The Shots picked Spenny off at will ,the game rounded off well with a Josh Barrett worldy that wouldn't have looked out of place at a higher level . VE Tours catered for 20 people yesterday .
Started the morning at the double 6 cafe in Euston before moving on to The Gallery at West Hampstead ,followed by Bohemia at West Hampstead . A place that is all Czech and Slovak culture . Great beer and food . We then moved onto the wonderful Black lion at Kilburn a grade 2 listed house . Plenty of lager on munich hell, Rothaus ,Hacker. Loads of ale on to . Next up was Beer and Burger at Wilsden.
The night concluded at the new spoons at Waterloo, not my cup of tea but it was actually very decent . Near Sainsbury's and great for trains to . What a wonderful day .

We were watching, and rooting for you. My two lads went to junior school with Theo (and Kai) Widdrington, and my wife looked after their younger sister at nursery school! Nice family - very pleased for them - especially after Tommy's recent health issues.

Is Hugo Langton still assistant manager there? I remember him from his Horsham days and met him once after a game at Three Bridges. Nice bloke.

Not sure what you mean by “old stand”
When I started going in the late 90s the only covered area was the existing club house/bar/changing rooms. That hasn’t changed much apart from a new roof and being rolled in glitter a couple of times. The camera used is positioned on the roof.
On the far (north) side there were only (IIRC) a couple of concrete block dug outs.

c2010 we opened the new 150 seat stand however due to Ryman League instructions it was extended at each end to accommodate 250 in about 2016. This pointless excercise totally cleaned us out financially however it was partially
funded by supporters getting a name on a seat for £200, my son’s one is still in existence despite some being vandalised by local layabouts a couple of years back.
That stand remains although the white pelmet with the words “Peacehaven and Telscombe FC”across it have long sine succumbed to the wind coming off The Channel. The other change is some of the vandalised seats have now been replaced by red ones from the old Wembley VIP area.

The east end (right) remains unchanged.

The west end, now has a 100 capacity standing white elephant, again following instruction from The Ryman league, this was also erected c2016.

All other improvements such as perimeter fencing, concreted walkways, tidied up grassed areas etc are all from last winters instillation of the 3G pitch.

It’s certainly a club on the up doing it’s best for the community however apart from one or two away matches a season I don’t go anymore so I’m a little bit out the loop as they say.
I was at Piddinghoe Avenue twice recently for Sunday League cup finals , and was pleasantly surprised to see how much the ground has been improved since my last visit, which was at least 15 years ago.

I guess it makes sense with them having to fly in and out of Gatwick for games
