Kneecap are Irish and nationalists and from their perspective the British government and in particular the Tories have been longstanding oppressors of their people; they are hardly likely to speak well of them. The current treatment of the Palestinians by Israel is directly comparable to the experience of the Irish and it's valid for Kneecap to draw attention to this. And sometimes when you're angry you say some harsh things which you might later regret.

People upset about Kneecap are going to be absolutely disgusted when they find out about all the rap music being released from jail.

If nothing else it proves that people get upset about things because they’re told to be upset by it. What Kneecap said is bad, but there’s convinced murders releasing songs they’ve recorded in prison about people they’ve stabbed and getting millions of views for it. One of those seems like a much more justified reason to clutch pearls.
