Am I being wooshed here? Or did you miss the multitude of screenings in a nice lounge in the stadium?
Sorry, I just meant The Terrace. I missed it in the lounges as I wasn't interested. I'm really just saying The Terrace is crap for beambacks and bring back the lounge venues.

ive been to both beam backs at the terrace and other than the results, really enjoyed them. The Terrace is not crap for beambacks to the hundreds of people who enjoyed them, they may be crap for you, which is a totally different thing. Watching a beamback on a tv in a lounge where you can barely see the screen, for me would be crap, id rather watch at home where at least I can get close enough to see on my tv

The Terrace isnt for everyone, it isnt meant to be, but its a great addition for those who like it, and can be ignored by those who dont

It’s been shown before at the Duke of Yorks and also a couple of independent cinemas in Sussex.
Wasn't the Duke of Yorks screening a rough cut rather than the final edit? And was it invite-only, as I don't remember tickets being available?

The implication from the OP was that - the club should put on some showings other than the Terrace i think , in cinemas and in the City. I was just pointing out that they had.

The screens in the lounge were huge.

I'll reply as you responded to me. First, you can't assume the hundreds of people at The Terrace for the Palace and Brentford beambacks enjoyed them. There's no pleasure in defeats even in the company of like minded fans and the club gave us no other viewing options. It was be there, watch an illegal stream or miss it. The Lounge beambacks for Europa League were much more enjoyable with a better atmosphere and watching in comfort. Second, you clearly never went to a lounge beamback at The Amex of as the main screen was huge.

Other than the result, the Brentford beamback at the Terrace was very enjoyable.

Sat down at table and chairs - check.
Great view on the big screens - check.
Swift service at the bar - check.

And a free drink on entry. The only SLIGHT grizzle was that the TV screens were split up a bit like SSN, with a tedious banner telling us on a loop for the entire game that there's no room for racism, report it, blah. Yeah, we know. Can we have the game on full screen now ? No ? Ok, we'll watch it in a smaller box then.

Other than that, not a lot to dislike and I'd do it again.
Never post-match though after an actual game at the Amex - that was a living nightmare.

Interesting final comment

” it isn’t meant to be”

who do you think the clubs designers and movers and shakers decided to exclude from the all inclusive fans experience when it was bring discussed If it wasn’t to be for everyone?

Quite simply, not everyone will fancy it. I certainly don't when the DJ starts cranking it up. But then, I'm ancient.

Time to pump up the volume

Put the needle on the record put the needle on the record put the needle on the record and the drumbeat goes like this

I agree that just because some people didn’t enjoy the Terrace, doesn’t mean it is a failure.

There is this mentality of “I didn’t like it so it’s s*hit”

I attended the Brentord beamback with my son and thoroughly enjoyed it… we got there early, sat ourselves down on the benches downstairs…

Watched the game on 3 massive screens… I bought him an orange juice which then allowed me to use the free drinks tokens for 2 free pints…

Enjoyed a sing song with some other Albion fans then we made our way home.

The result was disappointing… but my afternoon wasn’t.

All for the paltry sum of £12.

For me, I personally wouldn’t attend a beamback in the lounges… I have been to events in the lounges before and they just weren’t for me..: but I don’t begrudge anyone that does prefer this.

Whilst I agree that the Terrace would have been designed to be as inclusive as possible… it really won’t have been designed for EVERYONE.

31,000 plus people turn up to the Amex every week to watch the match… each will have different likes, wants, needs and circumstances.

My Mrs apparently likes slightly overweight 6 ft bald men with beards…

Whilst I like leggy blondes with large bristols…

World would be a dull place if we all wanted the same thing.

If you like the Terrace - go back and enjoy it.

If you hated it - probably give it a miss.

Club website still has tickets on sale for a showing on 16th May.

Anyone know the actual status of the screening before I click purchase?
That one should hopefully go ahead, as they bumped the few people who'd booked the cancelled showings onto this one.

111 tickets available atm, there were about 190 last I looked, hopefully there will be enough people going to make this one viable.

It hasn't really been advertised, and you can't see tickets easily on the app. Clicking 'tickets' from the top right drop-down picture menu doesn't show events to book, you have to pick another option (e.g. away games), then click the ticket at the top of the screen then scroll down to Terrace screenings. A lot of people won't have known it was there, it's not obvious.

All seems a bit of a half-arsed shitshow really and that's a shame, it feels like a missed opportunity - but I'm sure they'll learn.

Downstairs if you didnt sit at the benches you had to stand at the back and side which is no problem, view was fine but you then blocked the bar and people walking from one side to the other so pretty poorly designed, also no sound, didnt realise there was commentary until went to the toilet where you could hear it clearly. Alcohol obviously selling well, not sure about the food, the outlets looked pretty dead, only thing people seemed to be buying was the chicken which looked ok but not sure all the outlets will last too long.

Well I was at the Terrace beam backs, and yes I CAN say that the majority of people enjoyed the venue,. it was fairly easy to see that , especially when we equalised, that the vast majority of people were enjoying it. The singing, cheering, chanting, happy faces, and general talking to people there gave that away.. There is disappointment in defeat yes, but to say no one can enjoy the occasion if we lose is nonsensical. Im pretty sure most of the West Ham fans on Saturday were enjoying themselves immensely up to the 88th Minute. I enjoyed going to Wembley twice, despite the defeats, I have enjoyed plenty of matches where we lost, especially when we have been playing "top teams" and given them a good game

As I said in my previous post, just because YOU dont fancy it ,or enjoy it, doesn't mean others cant. You may well have enjoyed the Europa league match beambacks , and the wins were probably more enjoyable than the defeats-thats no surprise is it, but others will have preferred the beam backs at the Terrace . Some people like standing , others like to be seated, it takes all sorts.

The "club gave us no other options" is a bit rich, how many other clubs provide beambacks of any away games, effectively for free (first drink covers entrance fee). Before The Terrace opened there was no beam backs , so the club have provided something but your response is a bit "If I dont like it no one can, and why cant the club just do what I want. "

Clearly you never went to the terrace beamback if you think no one enjoyed it as on both occasions clearly although disappointed, huge numbers of people did enjoy the occasion. If you genuinely cant attend a match and enjoy watching unless we win, I feel a bit sorry for you
