Following my previous post about the 700% growth in the past year of domestic long-range missile production, am I right in thinking we haven't seen an accompanying
growth in them being deployed by Ukraine? Perhaps we've missed a few big bavovnas, but even so?

Are they being reserved for a special occasion? May Day celebrations perhaps?

I think you're right about the lower deployment.
I'm sure if Ukraine does SOMETHING to mark those celebrations, it'll be calculated and won't waste any weapons 👍👍...but I'd still like to see the May parade buzzed by drones!

'it'll be calculated and won't waste any weapons' - you're channeling your inner Ukrainian @raymondo.

I think you're right. Moscow will be crawling with security to make sure it all goes off ok in front of the cameras. But Ukraine might be looking at where Russia is moving the anti-aircraft systems FROM, to be in place for May day. Alternatively, they may then wait a few days so that the Russians can breathe a sigh of relief, and then hit them.

Note however, that this is all conjecture by an old git on a football forum.

Well about 90% of our chat on this thread is conjecture by us old gits 😁.
I'm sure Ukraine is analysing even more things than we regularly shake a stick at.

Here's an update from BBC - Zelenskiy calls Witkoff a complete idiot and utter prat... well, as close as he can get really 😉
BBC News - Zelensky accuses US envoy Witkoff of spreading 'Russian narratives'

There was a stage that Witkoff didn't know the names of the Ukrainian regions part-occupied by Russia.

But, and it has to said, Trump hired him because Witkoff is a decent golfer. Plays off four I understand.

Russia is trying many attacks in Pokrovsk and across the Zaporizhzhia front lines at the same time; and Ukraine is mainly destroying them 👍.
Near Pokrovsk, Russia attacked with 100 motorcycles and various vehicles, nearly all kaputted.

The possible end to the Russia-Ukraine war has created a vacancy.

We know that Russia works on multiple fronts.
We know that Russia has weaponised migration.
We know that Russia has been carrying out a hybrid war against Finland, including ten large cyber warfare attacks between 2022 and 2024.

What we didn't know until now, is that Russia is building infrastructure to house 20,000 people on the Russia-Finland border.

This is a 20 minute watch.

So, now his mate Putin isn't playing ball and entering into any sort of ceasefire, he's just going to walk away....

More détails on the 'imminent' minerals deal
Looks as though the US has given in on one of the main sticking points - Ukraine potentially joining the EU. Nor is there anything about them not applying to join NATO.

A part of me thinks that would be a good thing. He’s not going to send any more aid regardless. Best that he f*** off and focus on getting beaten up by Chaina (as me to the list of “never thought I’d say this” people). Europe can deal with it.

Hang in there on this one - nervous questioning, but the answers were interesting in the end. No idea if this guy is really itk on current White House thinking.

Except Rubio has said if there is no agreement in the next few days Trump will walk away. Presumable it will be Zelensky's fault for not being flexible enough.
