I was believing/dreaming but certainly not expecting. Qualification to any European competition is massive for us in terms of player recruitment and retention. Can we keep Pedro Mitoma Baleba Van Hecke if we fail to qualify?.
Whilst the conference league would be a novelty I don’t think it will have any relevance on retaining or signing players in reality.

I can understand why being in Europe would make us more attractive when recruiting, can't see it making a much of a difference where current players are offered higher wages/more prestigious clubs.

That Eilliot chance against the bar is going to wrap up the week with a nice little bow isn’t it

I think European football is essential not for attracting players but keeping players happy in relation to their game time. Already you can see some players who will be frustrated and that’s before we try and integrate the new signings and loan returnees.

Thanks Liverpool

Southampton relegated earliest ever relegation from the PL.

They are now tied with Derby 07-08 in the race to be the worse ever PL team. After 31 games both sides have/had 10 points and a -51 gd.

As many forewarned, all those dropped points earlier in season against bottom teams now paying dividends together with disastrous last week as others catch up games in hand and so forth. It’s why I cannot fathom some fans still saying we can qualify for Europe. We absolutely won’t just because it’s possible. Our results this season simply don’t support such optimism. Deluded if you think otherwise. Won’t happen, last week was key - and we lost all 3.

The main reason why 'some fans' are still saying it is very, very simple; We are currently 4...yes, 4 points off sixth spot. There are 21...yes 21 points to still play for.
We can lose to Leicester AND Brentford, possibly more, and still qualify.
I genuinely think you hold 'The Most Negative Poster' award.
FFS. :)
