This thread will have provided the club with priceless near-realtime feedback. Further proof, should any be needed, that NSC can be a force for good as well as evil
I’m certain that the comments made here, good and bad, will be carefully read and discussed by the club and the Terrace management. How they then deal with some of the issues is to be seen. The drinks ordering and collection system seems to be the key complaint so I’d expect that to be modified somehow.

Opening at 11am for a 5.15pm is irresponsible though. Most people can behave but the Club giving 6 hours drinking time to punters is questionable.

My boy's Amex card arrived yesterday morning so we were in the posh seats upstairs right from the off and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Watched the guys with lager on their backs wandering around waiting for someone to buy something for several hours before they sold any
My main thought is around security and away fans. Yesterday a few well behaved Forest fans made it into the Terrace, no problem. But word will rapidly get round away fans about the availability of the Terrace. Surely sooner rather than later the Terrace will have to be designated home fans only

The music they played on the speakers was crap

As mentioned getting beers was best from the people with the lager on back

Pretty sanitised area but will personally use it for a few beers rather than the concourse .

Overall it’s a decent addition

Normal pubs are open from 11 though and as for Spoons…….

I’m still going with the ‘not for me but probably for others’ assessment. Before the game we got there at probably five to four and I took one look and said sod that, let’s go to concourse.

Afterwards, despite the promise of some high quality entertainment, I just wanted to get home. Cold, pissed off and knackered I really wasn’t in the mood for a test event.

Not a diss at the club. I’m sure it’ll be great for those who used to go to Dick’s, families, people wanting to watch the early game and anyone who thinks having an Amex card makes them important, but that’s not me.

A lot of people want to have a drink with someone who sits in another stand. Is a great addition as Dick’s was always difficult to get into.

Likewise, I’ll be sticking with pubs in Brighton then head in.

Each to their own.

No problem if the Club want to give supporters the opportunity to drink for hours before a match, as long as it doesn’t lead to anti social behaviour.

Most people would only spend a couple of hours in the pub then go elsewhere. I imagine the only people going to the the Terrace will be going to the football so if you are there at opening that’s a lot of drinking time.

Let's just hope that tomfoolery doesn't escalate into blind, ugly violence which, let's face it, none of us want to see.

Is access open to all comers? I can imagine it being a nice trophy target for the likes of the Palace Ultras?

I really want the ban of drinking at your seat to be lifted but the culture of binge drinking probably won’t disappear so some people will get even more pissed. A tricky one.

Some sober thoughts re The Terrace (although the sober light of day has convinced me that the mad Hungarian guy actually followed us from the ground to the pub as he was there on the pavement outside about 1 min after. I don't think he was drunk, I didn't see him with a drink he was just creepy & weird).

Anyway... if the club want us to order digitally they need to make the 'collection point' bigger & the 'bar' smaller, the 'bar' serving area was pretty much empty as we were all waiting in a 'queue' for our digital orders. If I hadn't have paid when I was outside I would've just gone to the 'bar'. I don't know what it was supposed to be like but I had the impression that our 'number' would appear on a screen inside & then we could collect our order, like Argos. 😁

The current layout of the benches near to the collection point doesn't work, as the small space between the benches were used as 'queuing lanes' which isn't great for the people on the benches if people are walking by holding pints in the air above their heads in an attempt to get out. I was very sensible & asked for one of the cardboard holders as I'm a clumsy tw@t & if anyone was going to spill beer over people & their £12 burger, it would be me.
It maybe best to just lose those last benches so that some sort of queue system can be put in. The WSL has the walk through bar that doesn't take up much room when people are outside queuing to go through it. At that bar there are less people using it than there were in The Terrace. There kind of needs to be 2 queues, one for people whose number has been called and a separate area for those waiting for their number to be called.

It is a nice addition, it looks nice on the inside & out & I would happily go back (Hungarian weirdo aside). Even if you didn't go in it added to the atmosphere. When I was outside pre match the band were good, you could hear them & see them on the screens outside. Jnr had just looked at his phone to see the line up & was mumbling it to me when it was announced from The Terrace & it started the 'Yay' to the team sheet from outside, before the on pitch match announcement. It's a good small detail that adds to the build up. I did put the match programme on my beer order but it was nice to see they were selling them outside as well. I haven't bought one since they shut the 'hut' from the station as I had no idea where they were.

Yeah I would never drink for 6 hours, that would IRRESPONSIBLE!

Personally a 6 hour drinking session is one of my favourite pastimes. It might well be my only consistent ‘hobby’ over the years.

The club ‘promoting’ it is interesting.

However, if you’re on the mic at every match then we all might need a drink!!!

Beyond that though, there could be quite a throng of people hanging about waiting for their stuff to be ready - this seems to be a curse in places like McDonalds etc, although the screen-ordering in those kind of places has been retrofitted in, whilst the Terrace has been designed for separate ordering/collection, so I'm sure it's been well considered.

So I wrote this a few days ago but from many of the reviews, it seems I was wrong and it panned out how I feared - a mass bundle for collection of electronically-ordered stuff.

I hope the club have read the constructive comments on here as I don't doubt they'll be having a debrief early this week to consider how Saturday's kinks can be ironed out.

I imagine the beam backs will work better because there's a fixed number of punters - it's easier to plan and manage. On matchdays, the number who may be ordering simultaneously on their phones 1-2 hours before kick-off could be pretty significant and, once ordered, human nature is to go and hang around the collection point, particularly if there is no mechanism to call people forward at the appropriate time.

When we saw the size of the collection point compared to the bar area - we thought it must be April the 1st !!! What an absolute nightmare, and then add in the benches being located right next to it, were the planners joking

Overall - gorgeous building and facilities but poorly executed, so probably won't bother going again on a matchday unless closest benches removed and collection point expanded
