We're third favourites going into the quarter-finals and, as all and sundry keep saying, this thing is WIDE OPEN.

What's our story going to be?

I don't know... we recently beat Fulham. Clearly everything is possible.

Ultimately I think Manchester Citys experience from playing finals and decisive games will secure the trophy for them... unfortunately.

It’s a toss-up in three of the quarter-finals, and will be a toss-up in the two semis and again in the final. Seven very well-matched PL teams.

A rousing start, with constant pressure by us....
As the first half drags out with no success, Forest snatch a break away goal taking the sail out of the players and fans.
half time Forest 1-0 up.

Second half a buoyant start again all huff and puff, Forest are wasting time and yet again we are hit by a quick break and we are 2-0 down with 10 minutes to play.
Forest think they are coasting and we capitalise on 85 minutes to a half empty stadium.

The fourth official, holds up 5 minutes extra time....

Solly March screamer on 94 minutes...

Only to be ruled out for an infringement by Welbeck, VAR gets involved and the goal..... Stands
2-2

Extra time is pretty dull and we end up on penalties in front of the North stand.
Bart saves the final penalty and the Albion win 5-4

That is my guess

We can't know so might as well live in the dream that we win it.

In fact it is "one game at a time".

I put the Forest game at 50/50 and that is all we need think about for now.

massive opportunity , lot of hype and expectancy = lose to forest

Have a feeling its written in the starts we'll meet Palace at Wembley somehow though . That would be a pure headache

I'm just glad that the 'Who do we want in the Semi-Final?' thread hasn't been posted yet.

The 8-0 tommorrow will be a distant memory when we have comprehensively dismantled Palace in the final. This is where I’m at.

Just far enough away from LDC
Sadly because everybody is so ruddy excited - even moreso than the last 2 cup runs to the semis where the feeling was always that Man City would win it in the end - we are doomed to a shit performance tomorrow and a comfortable home loss. Think Southampton in 1986.
I made the same comment to my eldest last night.

I've seen all our quarter finals. 3 wins and 2 losses so far.

In 83 we played a team just above us but that we'd beaten in the league and month or 2 earlier.

86 a team from a higher division but who weren't the side of ball, keegan, channon, George, mills that they'd had recently

2018 away to a misfiring utd but were clear underdogs

2019 away to lower league opposition and made heavy weather of it - lucky equaliser too

2023 comfortable beaten popular minnows

So home to a top team who have bossed us already once is uncharted territory

We are absolutely guaranteed to make the semis purely because I have two social events on that weekend that getting out of is going to be a total pain in the arse (including a hotel stay)

Hard to disagree with any of that…
