Neither did we but Blair did it anyway.

Who's this 'we' ?

It always seems to be totally forgotten how the political parties actually lined up in that Iraq vote. The votes against were 84 Labour, 52 Lib Dem, 5 SNP, 4 Plaid Cymru, 2 Conservative and 2 others.

Labour 254 out of 410 voted for it (61%)
Conservatives 146 out of 166 voted for it (91%)

But you can prove anything with facts

It was in reply to a Canadian. Large numbers of people in the UK were against it, unless you were one who was all for it and believe the crap about wmd which could hit UK citizens.

Yes he convinced parliament with his dodgy dossier.

I fully expect Trump to introduce draconian laws against anyone who dares to criticise him or any of his aids.
We've already seen a sneak peak with that Republican who wants to make "Trump Derangement Syndrome" a mental illness to get people criticising him locked up

What’s scary is how quickly and effortlessly Trump has got US enforcement agents to follow his orders.

I’d like to think anyone getting that memo would be very resistant. Clearly not.

It’s how dictators get their dirty work done.
Are you familiar with the Milgram experiments of the 1950s? Sadly, it’s a fairly universal human trait.

He’s a top bloke, isn’t he, this Trump chap;

Breaking news:

  • Donald Trump has signed an executive order that will "begin eliminating" thefederal Department of Education (DoE)
  • Trump says that "this is the right thing to do", adding that the DoE will be shut "as quickly as possible"
  • The DoE is in charge of administering federal student loans for college and university students, offering assistance for low-income students and providing funding for schools to offer certain programmes to disabled students

I was happy Trump won the first time. I didn't like how some in the US were trying to stop democracy and using all means to try and stop him. I was aggravated by all the movie / pop stars etc getting involved. The arrogance that you thought you could make all the difference. I don't remember much in his first term that was too controversial. I defended him when having discussions. Second time around I think I wanted him to beat Biden the disgusting senile war criminal. Then I think I leaned a little to Harris as I knew if Trump won all there would ever be on news channels especially Sky would be him, every day all day. They are obsessed with Trump and US news. He won and I thought ok fair enough. However since he took over I have come to despise him with a passion. The way he has leaned right over to Israel even more than Biden did and has no regard at all for the Palestinians. Blindly blaming them for everything. Talking of Ethnic cleansing and then posting that video on his site. At this point to me he confirmed himself to be a total f..... psychopath. His treatment of Zelensky , what he and that vermin Vance did in that meeting, calling him a dictator etc etc. This weak pathetic president who rather then stop the war in Ukraine by getting tough with Putin instead has been offering his backside and begged to be taken. He will sell out Ukraine, give Putin all the land he has invaded and then actually think he should have credit for ending the war???? Even Biden the useless clown could have ended it if he too caved in to Putin.

Interview after interview after interview he repeats himself over and over and over again. ' The war would never have started had I been President'. 'We gave Ukraine 350 billion', 'There are billions missing in the US that Musk has found', Hamas this Hamas that blah blah blah blah. He's just one long repeat and he does it because he is a narcissist . His brain dead supporters believe it all. Every single word.

I can't believe we will have this for 4 years. Do I need to stop watching the news?? How do I get away from this lowlife scum?? That guy on the roof, if only he had been a better shot.

Why do Americans stand for this? get out on the streets you idiots.
because many dont like or mistrust the central government. they see the many federal departments as impinging on their rights and wasteful with duplication of government at state level.

A long read but gives insight into the savagery of the Ice and detention system. It alos talks about the companies being privately owned and making money out of incarcerating people. Disgusting.

A heartbreaking & horrific article.

I have always loved visiting the USA...its such a beautiful country, but I have zero inclination to go back while this awful administration is in power.
