How long will this go on for? On BBC Sports homepage-not the Football page which would be more understandable- there are ELEVEN specifically Burn or Newcastle stories as of now- its a bit overkill isnt it? So a "big six" side didn't win the trophy- yes thats a bit newsworthy, but its a bit out of proportion . Its Englands "very" second class cup, and yes I would love Brighton to have won, but would we have got the same coverage, or Palace, or anyone else?

It's the cup we went out of as our reserves weren't as good as Liverpool's reserves. Yes, we would milk it for all it was worth if it were us and rightly so - you have won a major trophy for the first time in however long. But I agree the media have gone over the top because of their "great fans". (TM) The FA Cup is a bit devalued compared to how it used to be but nowhere near as much as the League Cup. They haven't climbed Everest, they won a tournament that a lot of teams put weakened teams out in.

i think its correct- Hopefully (we will get the coverage), we WILL find out in May(we will win the cup and so find out about the coverage in May.)- at least thats how I read it
Correct, but I could have done with a full stop at the end.

Away with the fairies
I turned the radio commentary on to see what the score was just as Burn scored.

At that point Sam Matterofact started masturbating. Dan Burn used to stack shelves in Asda apparently and on it went..... Switched the radio off again until the end.

The media are acting like it is some kind of Roy of the Rovers, giant-killing upset. Rather than a club backed with the wealth of an entire country winning the second most important domestic cup competition.

I have a real dislike for Newcastle. I can't stand the way they think they are somehow more special than other clubs.

Bloody Killjoys, good on him and Newcastle

Boyhood club, scores at wembley for first trophy in 70 years?
This is the paradox of Newcastles win.

We’re supposed to love it because the boy done good, the wait is finally over etc. But it’s entirely down to sports washing by a ruthless dictatorship. Still, don’t let that pop yer champagne bubbles if you’re a Geordie!

In fairness, it's Tuesday. They won it on Sunday. I don't think it's close to an end yet, nor should it be.

If Brighton win anything, I won't be satisfied until we have at least a month-long love-in with deep-dives into our rags to riches story, interviews with everyone from Attila, Samrah, the DULLARD, to Bloom, PBOBE and the players. Plus a public holiday every year thereafter and a commemorative pint glass.

In fairness, although it is a victory for sports washing, I don't think it's entirely down to that. They aren't in City's league, for example, or Chelsea's for using filthy money to polish the reputation of a horrid person or regime. PSR has done it's job there, and will likely mean that Isak does actually leave in the summer (amongst others) to continue to meet their obligations.

I heard one of the journalists on The Totally Football Show (Daniel Storey, maybe?) giving Eddie Howe all the credit for Dan Burn's late career development. Surely some or most of the credit should go to Potter?
Hardly. Potter wasn’t any good, remember.
